Our Projects

Isara trash clean-up campaign.

Isara Foundation focuses all of its resources into improving the quality of education, health, and the environment.

All of our projects are funded by:
- Sponsorships and donations
- Free visits/clicks to our website

100% of all funds received are utilized for Isara projects. Below is a summary of our ongoing projects.

Education
Isara Learning Center (ILC) – In 2007 Isara opened a free Learning Center in Nong Khai, Thailand. The ILC is maintained and operated by volunteers who teach English and computers to students (children and adults), each afternoon, Monday-Friday. More than 100 students are currently enrolled and there is a waiting list of 40+ students.
Results: ILC students excel at English and are more confident to learn other subjects.

Isara Scholarships – Since 2006 Isara has sponsored more than 25 students (ages 9-18). Recipients are encouraged to help with Isara projects, assist ILC classes, and wear a helmet when driving a motorcycle.
Results: In 2010, our most recent college scholarship recipients, graduated at the top of their class.

Volunteer Placement – Most rural schools in Thailand do not have qualified English instructors, even though English is required in every school curriculum. Isara provides rural schools with volunteer English teachers so that the rural students do not fall further behind their urban counterparts.
Results: Students learn at a MUCH quicker rate.

Health & Safety
Isara Helmet Campaign – Nearly 80% of the Thai population uses a motorcycle and the resulting accidents have a huge impact on each and every family. In 2005 Isara started its very first helmet campaign and since then we have donated more than 2,000 helmets and educated hundreds of thousands of students about the benefits of helmets.
Results: Each day we see our students wearing Isara helmets and we see the difference this campaign is making. Because of the success of the campaign Isara has received attention from numerous Thai tv shows and magazines. Isara also received a humanitarian of the year award in 2008 by a large media group in Bangkok.
Environment
Trash Clean-up Campaigns – Isara started educating students about the environment and the dangers of trash in 2007. Since then we have created more than 12 clean-up events and had thousands of students participate.
Results: Students are more aware of the dangers of throwing trash on the ground. Recycling is becoming more about saving the environment than saving a dollar.

Isara Recycling Center (IRC) – Started in April, 2010, the IRC is currently in the initial stages of development. Our plan is to slowly build up enough monthly recyclables so that the project becomes completely self-sufficient. The hope is that one day the IRC will fund Isara charity projects through the selling of recycled materials.
Other Projects
From time-to-time we have also been known to take a large group of orphans to the movies, provide supplies to refugees, or donate playgrounds to rural schools. We are open to any project ideas that our suggested to us by our sponsors, volunteers, or website visitors.
