I hope Wes lets us know how his trip goes back home.  I'm about to fall over with being sleepy, so I cannot stay awake long enough to go back thru the thread to find out when he was supposed to actually be going home.

Wonder if he misses the place yet?  Maybe not the dogs, but the other stuff.  Smiley

Speaking of pictures, back on page two here, there is a picture of the upstairs bathroom, PK's "pride and joy".  Why isnt there a ceiling on the potty room?  There's no ceiling on the potty room.  There's supposed to be a ceiling on the potty room, otherwise, its like doing your business behind a curtain while people are sitting there watching tv.   Grin

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you guys know I got home safe and sound... and was greeted by robust -10 degree celcius weather, I have lost my tolerance for the cold though because I went outside for 5 minutes and felt like I was gonna die.  Thartley, there isn't a ceiling on the upstairs bathroom... I don't really know why but turning on the faucet helps...add some background noise... or you can just go downstairs and use that one.  But I have a major sleep deficit right now so I'm headed off to sleep.
I will post pics of my gems later.

Welcome home, Wes. Grin Hope you'll continue to post and stay in touch.

Thartley, the walls do not go all the way to the ceiling in that section but, while renovating, we "thought" about putting some bamboo panels up there to add some more privacy. Maybe that's something Sean and I can do before you get here. Either that or we can pay a carpenter to build-up the wall to reach the ceiling. It hasn't been a big issue but I agree it would be much nicer.

Hey guys, Ive been doing secretarial work at my dads real estate office because his receptionist is gone for another week on holidays and my dad is going to be in Arizona for the last half of this week as well so I have to help my brother run things at the office.
I tried to get a job as an executive assistant to the owner of a chemical engineering company here but I dont have an accounting certificate so he wont employ me, but i have applied to a security company that will be opening in town and I hope to hear from them because I have experience in that field as well.  I will let you guys know how things go.

I thought it was time for another update:
I have been working as an unlicenced real estate assistant for my dad.
Tomorrow I move to Calgary, Alberta, about 275km Northwest of where I live. There I will be taking a 300 hour course to become a licenced real estate agent and I hope to be done my classes by mid june.  Then I can get my licence and start working for myself and make more $$$
I have class from 0830-1600 (8:30-4pm) Monday thru Friday for 3 weeks straight then a few days off then another solid week of class then a few days off then another solid week of class then a few days off then my sixth week of class is my last week.
My brother has been working as a real estate agent for 2 years and is currently taking his brokerage class through correspondence and should be ready to be my broker by the time I am done my course, it will be nice to have this as a family business.
I am going to be living with one of my best friends who just got back from a 18 month scholarship in Japan, he is half japanese by ancestry and he loved living over there.
So I hope to do well in my schooling and should be on here more when I am not in school.

Hey Wes, your legacy at the ILC is definitely the kitchen!  LOL!  Grin  Jennie and Ming cooked a DELICIOUS meal last week.  So, thank you!   Cool

Jennie? from Travel to teach?  I saw a picture of her on the trash clean up thing.  I volunteered with her the first time I came to Thailand in 2005.
its interesting that she is helping you guys now.
So anyways, I havent been on much because it took me this long to get a wireless network card and get back online here.  i spend 7 hours every weekday in class so I am usually exhausted by the time I get home... never mind the 45 minute commute each way to my class (who would have thought it could take 45 minutes to travel 10km through the city)
anyways I am glad everything is going well at the ILC and in Nongkhai.
It makes me happy to know that the kitchen is still getting good use, Thartley.
The weather here has been nuts lately, it went from 26C/79F to -10C/14F in a 48 hour period last week and then it blizzarded for 2 days and we got 60cm/2feet of snow.  Then on the weekend it warmed up to 28C/83F and it has been gorgeous and warm today.
I will take some pics of the view from my balcony at my apartment here if i get a chance and post them online.
I better get to bed, i gotta get up at 0700 and go to school.
ttyall later

mmmmmmm, Bliiizzard.  Sounds like heaven.  I know PK and Sean will be saying, BUT YOU HAVE A/C IN YOUR ROOM!  We are actually trying not to run it much.  Our little wheel in the electric box on the wall by the elevators looked like a flying saucer trying to take off.   Grin  So we are sitting in the hot with the table fan on high.

I was out earlier and it felt actually kind of mild.  Maybe only 100F.   Grin Grin Grin

Just wanted to give you all an update on me:
I just wrote my 4th exam in the Real estate program for the Commercial Real estate specialization
I was very nervous about this one because it is the most intense and difficult module in the course...it has about a 30% failure rate.
The whole thing is about math and math theory as well as complicated investment concepts and financing calculations.... just entering the problems into the calculator is a challenge in some cases.
Anyways I PASSED!!!

The exam was very difficult and it took me a long time to do I used 179 of 180 minutes allotted.
I didnt to very well compared to the other exams I have written but all you need is a pass to proceed in the course so I am just glad about that because every exam we seem to lose a few people from the course due to failure and it makes me angry because a lot of these people deserve better.  The exams are tricky and use complex or uncertain english to trick people which confuses a lot of the people in my class who dont speal english as their first language.

I only have one more module to complete on Rural and Agricultural Real estate and I will be writing the exam on June 16th... I hope to have my real estate licence soon thereafter.
So.. yeah the next module should be a cakewalk and i will let you know how the rest of it goes.
