gadget - Sometimes I think Sean is still on the Moosejaw payroll. Either that or he didn't have any clothes prior to working there. lol This was after yesterday's class. (I'll let Sean explain the picture.)

That my friends... which I am pointing at so weatherman-esque, is permanent marker. Angry  One of the kids mixed in the permanent ones with the regulars and of course thats the one I grabbed.  Luckily I  got most of it off with some rubbing alcohol.

The ink in a dry erase marker is also a solution to cleaning up permanent marker.  Give it a shot in small (under 6" lines) trace over the permanent marker then wipe it away!

I think i left some denatured ethanol there, I used to clean the board with it every month, just use a lot of it and paper towels, it will dissolve any marker you put on that board.

Sean, I am glad you cleared up any thoughts of you being a shoe-fanatic. Although I remember at school you were wearing 4 shoes one day- you said you couldn't find gloves? Hah! Jk.

I am jealous of the weather over there. It's been raining a lot lately and I drove through this white stuff they call "snow" when I drove up Highway 5 to visit my mom. It was bizarre. =) California is suppooooosed to be sunny all the time. Dangit!

Here are some pictures from yesterday.  Cutting down the bananas that grow on right outside the ILC.  And the swamp jungle that is the "backyard".

Here are some more pictures of my students.  I felt really bad for the little girl in the orange, she was maybe 6 years old and the second her mom left she started quietly crying.  I gave her a coloring book and let her color for the rest of class and that made her happy.

Sean, you are the BEST at sharing the visuals, dude!  That class looks pretty big, lots of kids...LOTS of them.

Can I teach English to little bitty newborns?  I'll be a baby rocker and snuggle for hours with them, speaking English into their ears.  Couldn't that work? I've got no problem changing diapers.   Grin Grin

Thank you for all the pictures! Sean, quick thinking on your feet to let the six year old color. Hopefully it will get easier for her when she learns the class is fun.  Smiley

I am only guessing here but I think Sean has spent more time in the classroom over the last few weeks than the previous 5 or 6 years at UCSB

Sean mentioned that he's a sports fan(atic) in the member introductions thread, and so I'm sure he'll try to find somewhere to watch the Super Bowl. Grin

Today was Sean's big introduction to a nearby government school where he'll be volunteer teaching in the afternoons. The school has about 400 students, ages 5-12. Sean will be teaching with a Thai teacher who sometimes studies at the ILC.

Check out that view of the Mekong River and Laos.
