Hey Everyone! I have been very scarce on the forum since my return to crazy Seattle life but just thought I'd check in and let you all know what I have been up to, I know I like to see what other Isara members and volunteers have been doing, so here are the Jen Current Events....lets use bullet point smileys  Cheesy shall we....

Tongue I've taken on a quarters worth of college credits, which I am seriously considering, since my time with Isara, using toward a degree in teaching

Cheesy I've been helping to coach an indoor rock climbing team

Roll Eyes I've trained the thai puppy Night a pretty fair amount, he finally stopped taking one of every pair of my shoes to chew on

Grin I have a great part time job as a nanny for a sweet little 14 month old girl, although this is not a picture of her because I don't have one, so I just typed in 'generic baby' into google images and this is what I got

Shocked And for my last bullet point, my 'celebration & announcement'...as of this coming monday I'll be in South Carolina at a place called Parris Island for Marine Corps boot camp! Joining the USMC is something I have been seriously considering for the last couple years, and now I'm ready to pick that one up where I left off.  I'll be joing the reserves and training as a 'data network system specialist', so basically I'll be a reservice computer-networking-nerd Marine, whooo-hoooo!

The best part about this news is that I can gladly credit my experience at Isara for the confidence I've gained and the ablility to move forward into new experiences!  Smiley

I'd love to hear any of your comments about this all...but otherwise I'll just send out this big HELLO! I hope everyone in the Isara forum is doing great and I can't wait to come back to civilized life after training and check out the site. Wink

Wow Jen! You've been busy, eh? Grin I hope that as you continue life's journey, you keep us posted with all the changes in the years to come.

I think it's great that your experience at Isara gave you confidence to really have foresight into your life's decisions. Living isn't meant to be taken lightly. Cheesy And living life to the fullest should include some fun moments. I hope you enjoy your time at Parris Island, and I hope you remember to take pictures. Smiley (Just no more women screaming at each other...those kind scare me!) Grin

Good Luck!

Jen - Great to hear about all the things you're doing (and have done). And I'm glad that you're time here was a positive experience. Good luck in Boot Camp. I hear it's pretty rough on Parris Island but not too tough for you. You ROCK!!! (climb)

And it looks like Night hasn't changed much. Grin

Now and Then

Good luck and please keep in touch whenever you can. We'll all be thinking about you. Take care,
k

You GO, Jen!  I'm very happy to hear from you and to know what you are doing these days (and in the days to come).  I hear the skeeters are terrible at PI, so you take some Avon Skin So Soft to fend them off!

Rock climbing, wow!!!!  If I were to ever go rock climbing, it would turn very quickly into "cliff diving"... its a simple matter of mass + gravity.   Grin

Whats up everybody! it's a good feeling to be back on the site! Grin
Unfortunatley I'll be out of touch again here soon.... as some of you might remember me mentioning, I joined the Marine Corps, and last friday was my graduation from boot camp. I'm now home for ten days of leave before I go to North Carolina and then California for further training.  My job in the Marine Corps will be "data network system specialist"....some kinda computer programming/networking job...maybe when I come back to Isara to volunteer PK can put me to work on "THE BEAST"  Shocked(haha, I just thought that might be a good nickname for the ever-growing Isara site).
Well, as always, I'm super excited, and VERY impressed at the continuous progress and success of Isara.
Keep it up y'all!
 Wink

P.S. - Glad to know that some of you had been thinking of me, I had certainly been thinking of you all. Unfortunatley in boot camp they didn't even let us call home! We had absolutley no way to use a computer.

I'll be in North Carolina for a month and then I will go to Twenty-Nine Palms, California for about 3 months.

Smiley Yes I like doing what I'm doing, our training focuses a lot on confidence, we have to learn how to be confident ALL the time, and also to have confidence in the Marines next to us that we have to work with.  They teach us how to work as a team really well, and to get things done FAST!
