This is one of my 4 year old sons absolute favorites. We rented the VHS from local mom and pop store so many times they let us have it! Later he and I were at Target (in a city that actually has one) and he spotted the DVD for 8 bucks which we scooped up with no hesitation. He really didnt care for the extras, watched em once, but he watches the movie a lot.

He even taped a flashlight to a plastic baseball bat to pretend its Hogarts BB gun (we dont have any actual toy guns).

I haven't rented this for my 5 year old yet. I guess he'd like it?

He's really just started a Tonka Monster Truck video phase. Even my three year old daughter yells, \"T Power!\"

This really is a great movie. I don't remember ever seeing any promotions for this- it may have gone straight to VHS and DVD. But, the animation is awesome, great story, and good (voice) cast. This is definitely one you can sit down and watch with the kids. :laugh:

Just watched it again the other day. The scene when he's flying into space, to destroy the missle, gets me everytime.

You've got to be made of stone not to feel moved by that scene.
