This was a fun movie, I thought. It stayed true to the Indiana Jones formula with a little more humor thrown in. A bit different though on the crystal skull aspect, and the ending. Any thoughts from anyone? Smiley

I will have to NOT come in this thread again after this post because I wont be able to see this until I get back to the states unless, by some miracle, it comes here and is in English.

I saw it with some friends and thought it was okay. I must admit, though, I have never seen any of the other "episodes" if that's what you call them (I know, blasphemy) so for me it was not as enjoyable, but still an alright film. The whole alien thing kind of threw me, you know?

This film was OK. Good family entertainment. The trouble with the ending was over reliance on computer graphics. Being a mixed Thai/English family (based in Bangkok), we had to hunt round a bit to find a movie theatre showing in English with Thai subtitles (or vice versa). For some reason our local was showing the Thai version in one theatre and the English version in another, both without subtitles.

BTW caught Cate Blanchett in "Notes from a Scandal" on TV recently. What a contrast! She is some mean actress. I don't agree with the critics who say she was too over the top in Indiana Jones either.

I kind of float both ways on this movie. It was a good movie. I'm just not sure how I feel about the whole aliens aspect of it all. I loved the car chase scene, but the ending just didn't really do it for me. I'm one of those that needs a good ending to really appreciate the movie, and I just feel it fell short there. Perhaps it's just me trying to tie in Indiana Jones with aliens. They definitely jumped out on a limb with that one in my opinion. In any case, the movie itself was pretty good.

I have to agree with ianh68 about the Cate Blanchett critics. I didn't think her performance was over the top. I didn't even recognize it as being Cate at first. It was definitely a different role, but I think she did it well.

I was able to see it on opening weekend and really enjoyed the film.  The alien thing was a little different than the previous films but the previous were beyond "reality" with the religous supernatural themes.  I would recommend it to anyone who likes adventure films.

I don't find that the alien thing was a bit much. Considering the other movies, I thought it was a good theme. I enjoyed the film. It was actually the first Indiana Jones film I've seen, and I enjoyed it a lot. Definitely one of the must-see movies this summer.

USA Network just happened to show all three movies on the Friday the 13th weekend. I DVR'd them, and got to watch all three movies yesterday. I love 'em.

I saw this and really liked it. The alien thing was a little weird, but so was someone having their heart removed from their chest in Temple of Doom lol. I grew up watching these movies, so they have a special place in my heart. In fact, my sister & I had a game growing up where we pretended to be Indy.

The first 20-30 minutes were pretty bad, but after that, it was serviceable.  Not great.  Nowhere close to the others.  But OK.
