That was the dumbest season ender that I've ever seen! Come on! Jack in a beard is not a good look, I must say. Most shows leave you hanging, but this one kinda leaves it just sitting there. You could leave, and feel fine knowing that they leave the island, even if they aren't happy. Dumb.

Sorry you thought it was dumb. They did leave us hanging on a few things...

1) Who is on the boat?
2) Why does Jack want to go back?
3) Was the flash forward true? Or is this just what Jack sees as happening in the future based on what he feels now?
4) Who was is the coffin? He said he was "either friend or family".
5) How do they get off the island?

I could think of quite a few more, but getting off the island is not the only
sub plot of this show. There are a ton of other ones, and for me getting
off the island just means the show is over. I am thoroughly entertained
by everything else.

I'm sure many others feel the same as you and will probably not watch anymore.
That is bad judgement on the side of the writers if this is the case.

anyone that watches this show will know it's not that simple, i loved it also he said that whoever was in the coffin was neither friend or family

I watched a second time and focussed on his response. I think
he said "either".

Also when he made a call before he got on the railing to jump,
I could of sworn he said "Kate".

i'm not sure about the kate thing but it wouldn't make sense if asked "is it friend or family" to reply "either" would it?

also who could have died that would have made him so upset? unless it was kate and they just have the order all jumbled up, they don't make this show so that everything is easy to figure out, i love all the new questions? and the boat could be something to throw us off, we'll just have to wait and see.

i don't think it's possible for anyone to have been able to read that, i also don't think they intended that. it had to be someone profound in order for it to effect jack that way. also we don't actually know the true order of things here i.e. pulp fiction.

do you think the writers are influenced by this phenominon of blog, forums, and websites or do you think they have the rest figured out? Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

I've found that they tend to stretch everything to make it fit into something. It's an interesting idea, but I guess we have to wait till October to find out.

Ok, so I FINALLY got to see some episodes of LOST (Yes, I'm VERY late to the party). But, after only viewing the first 4 episodes, I can definitely understand why this show has such a following. It's fascinating. The writers probably just spin a wheel to come up with stuff to throw on the island, but that's what's so fun about it. You never know what you're going to get.

When they were introducing Mr. Locke's character there was a nice "Office Space" reference. "Where are those TPS reports?" Ha!

Will continue watching Season One this week. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Btw, abc.com has an 8 minute video to catch anyone up on the entire series. How they do it in 8 minutes, I don't know... Huh

I dont know about 8 minutes, but I sure liked the 8:00pm quickie episode they aired before the real new ep at 9:00p.   Good stuff.  I had lost track of watching the show for quite a while, so it helped me to be able to see the "cliffnotes" version beforehand.

I like the recap pre-show too. Previous re-caps focused on what actually happened on the island. This one brought in the flash backs and tied them to the island. Very cool.

Did Hurley's flash forward occur before Jack's flash forward in the last episode of last season? And who are the "Oceanic 6"?

Also, did Hurley see Jacob when he looked in the cabin? I'm going to have to see that part again. Ben seemed happy that John couldn't see Jacob, but upset when John said he heard Jacob.

I dont know about the Hurley part, but I know Ben was upset that John had heard Jacob because it meant that John and Jacob would be able to communicate.  That is what I thought Ben's whole concern was...the ability for someone else to communicate with Jacob.

On my TV screen I didn't recognize him, but after seeing this screen cap,
the guy in the chair was Jack's dad.  Shocked

I've been watching the first season online again, and I missed quite a bit the first time on DVD.
Just finished "White Rabbit" which is the one where Jack sees his (dead) father
walking around and then finds the empty coffin.

They have them all in HD at www.abc.com.

This show just gets better and better....

I have been reading a lot at The Tail Section.

Where did Jacob's hut go? Maybe it is only there when Jacob needs help. Since it wasn't where it was before (within the gray dirt ring), perhaps everything is going well according to Jacob.

And I like the theory that says that Elsa and Naomi work for the same person (the 'economist') because they had the same bracelet.

I have to agree. I was really afraid that I wouldn't get into it, as it's been off for so long. So many questions, though. It drives me nuts! I would like to know who Jacob is,and why Ben can't see or hear him? Also, why did Ben shoot Locke, because he could hear him? The disappearing cabin is alot like other things I've read. You only find it when you need it, etc. One other thing I'd like to know is why Naomi and the other people want Ben so badly. It's definetly interesting, and I really hope that they answer some questions soon! It keeps you wanting more, but they keep piling more questions on top of others, so it would be nice to have some of those answered first!

i'm not sure if jacob is an actual person, and they haven't made it clear whether or not ben could see or hear him have they? i think maybe that's why he's special and he shot locke because he didn't want to share maybe? you are right about the questions though i saw zero at church this morning and i said the same thing, i was like "man i'm getting confused i have to watch the episode twice to get it" anyway we'll just have to wait i guess

Jacob might not be a real person. When we saw a brief image of him at the end of last season, he was dressed like he was from the 1700's. Come to find out the actor who played him is a prop guy from the show. So, unless a prop guy becomes an major actor in this show, I doubt we see him as someone from the 18th century again.

Now, I have more questions, since last night's episode. If you haven't watched it yet, then don't read down any further, don't want to spoil the surprise...

Why does Kate have Aaron, and what happened to Claire? So, we have Kate, Jack, Aaron, Sayid, and Hugo,as part of the Oceanic 6. Who's the last? Also, according to Jack, when he lied on the stand, only 8 people survived, so what's the story of the missing 2?
