I love "Lost" and am very glad they are cutting out all the reruns.
I was not expecting Locke's dad to be in the room.  What does this mean; is Locke's dad connected with Dharma?
They are great about creating more questions with every answer they seem to give.

I was thinking he arrived there because of some incident. Did the magnetic pulse generated by the Swan when it imploded, cause an incident which brought his Dad to the island? Desmond thinks that his failure to push the button on time, caused flight 815 to crash. Or, was his Dad on 815 also?

Also, another thought, remember when Hurley was in an office explaining how bad things happen around him since he won the lottery? Was Locke the person who fell past the window of the office?

Oh My Gosh, I totally forgot about the person falling past the window in that episode.

If you haven't seen the Apr-4 episode of Season 3...read no further.

This was another great episode. Locke has gone to the other Grin side. I'd swear that black smoke hunts down and kills those people who are "flawed", or those with some skeletons in the closet. Also, I don't think Juliet was gassed but was left behind by the others for some reason. She knew where Jack and Sayid were and she handcuffed herself to Kate! Something fishy there.

This series just gets better and better. I live for Wednesday nights!

A couple of observations and curiosities...

  • That symbol on the tree sure looked a lot like that mark they put on Julliette's back.

Why did they implant that thing in Claire? How did they know they would need it? Is Julliette lying about the injection Nathan gave Claire.

Where else do they get contact from the outside world? Surely the russian outpost was not the only way to communicate.

The funniest thing I have seen on Lost, is when Ben was telling the russian not to shoot as he and Juliette approached.  Cheesy

I haven't watched it, yet. We tape it, and watch it on Fri. nights, when we have time. I agree that the series is just getting better and better. I don't know what's up with Locke. He's always been to weird for me. Can't wait to watch the newest episode tonight!

I liked this episode and can't wait for more.  I was really surprised by all the info they gave us at the end with the scene of Juliet and Ben.

I know "the others" had the ability to get info off the internet but I still do not see how they know things like Sawyer shooting the guy in Australia.

I did like Ben being scared the Russian guy would shot them.

OK, is it me, or is Lost getting really weird?! I mean, they found the 815 plane, and the bodies of the people who were on it? Yeah, and the producers claim that they're not in Purgatory.

I think she said "there were no survivors". I'm thinking they found a piece of the plane, but since the island is invisible to the outside world, some weird magnetic field, they assume everyone perished.

Yes, it is weird, but that is why I like it. I love the show more and more. A lot of people don't like it because they think it will never resolve. The show is not just to answer the question "what are the other's doing there?" It's the back stories, tying together. It's the characters who you have come to know. It's a world which is different than the one we experience. It's the little clues they feed you.

It's going to be a long summer waiting for season 4.

I was wondering about the whole "they found the plane" thing, but may be you are right about it just being a piece of the plane and not necessarily any bodies.
I love all the back stories and the many past connections.  I am amazed at how the writers can keep all of it straight.  I was surprised that it is Sun's fault Jin was working for her father in that capacity.  I kind of thought it was always that way.  I am glad the baby is Jin's but I hope this does not mean they are going to kill Sun off.

Don't I know it! That's a good theory, about them assuming there were no survivors. I have to wonder what Ben is up to? Why have Juliet get all the women's DNA? What's his goal? I'm glad that Jin is the Father, too. I have to wonder if the pregnant women died, because they were doing thigs to them. Maybe Sun will be ok, if they leave her alone. I love Sun and Jin, and I hope that they don't kill them off. I'm not to thrilled with Jack, lately. To secretive. Something happened when he was over there, maybe he's part of Juliet's plot?

I listened to the last part of the last episode:

Unnamed Girl: "They found the plane. There were no survivors. They all died."
Hurley: <look of horror>

The purgatory thing has been beat to death. And there was one episode where it seemed like it was all a dream of Hurley in the mental ward.

One option is that the girl is part of the others and came to the island by air because the sonar went out. She could be trying to deceive the losties, like Ben is.

It's possible that The Others, or Dharma or whoever is behind the whole thing has some control within the media and simply had it reported that the plane was found with no survivors to the public to keep them from looking for them... so that chick could have just "seen it on the news" or something.

I didn't record the one from last night "The man behind the curtain", but I did watch it on the ABC web site during my lunch break. Man this show just gets better and better.

I found a new site which has the most detailed information on exactly what has happened on the show.

http://www.lostpedia.com

Check out the character bios! Here is one for "him"...

http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Jacob

But don't go there if you haven't seen the last episode. It us VERY up-to-date.

Last night was definitely one of the most gratifying episodes yet... they really gave us some meat to chew on which resulted in not overly feeling "left hanging" as many episodes have.

The producers said that from here on out they will be giving more and more answers to our questions rather than just piling on tons more questions... it's nice to have finally reached this point, it's feeling a lot better at the end of an episode!

+++ Sorta Spoiler ++++
They also said that this season's finale will give us some background on Jack that will surprise us!

Season 3 finale tonight!

The coolest scene on Lost so far was the final scene last week, when Charlie swam down to The Looking Glass. The show lead up to the point, starting with Desmond saying that he saw Charlie drown in a hatch after he flicked a switch. Then he remembered his "Greatest Hits" and wrote them all down to give to Desmond to give to Claire after he died saving the lives of the Losties.

If they had all this figured out ahead of time, the writers are genius. I suspect they had the framework down, and have come up with amazing back stories and sub plots based on this framework. Wow! That is one awesome idea for a show to spawn this much creativity along the way.

I almost don't want it to "all resolve". I just love getting blown away by the new mysteries, sub plots, back stories, and coincidental encounters. It's going to be a long break until next season.

Anyone know any good books which are similar?

As a matter of fact The Dark Tower series by steven king the reason it is similar is that it follows the path of roland the las gunslinger on his quest to find the dark tower (basically the reason everything exists is because of the tower) and everyone he meets on the way is somehow related or necesary for him to realize his (ka) destiny. this story (7 books) is interwoven throughout most of his other books in someway or another. he wrote the first book "the gunslinger" in around 1978 or 80 and finished the series in about 2004, you are lucky you have all of the books available to you (i can lend them to you) as i had to wait like 20 years to finish so i read it twice and i was sad when it was over, he really knows how to involve his reader, if you need a second opinion thartley will back me up. now lets go watch some lost. Cheesy

No spoiler warning here...if you didn't see the finale of season 3...then you're not paying attention anyway.  Wink

I think Locke was in the coffin in Jack's flash-forward. And how cool was it that Locke couldn't shoot Jack? Never seen a show on TV as good as this...ever.

I did have one thing I got right...the three shots did not kill anyone.  Grin

When Sawyer shot Tom and said, "that's for taking the kid off the raft", I became  devoted to the show forever. They can't do anything wrong from here on out.

After all they have shown, answered, revealed in the last 3 seasons, I am more intrigued than ever. And they must have much more to keep us going for 3 more seasons of 16 episodes.

WOW!

Yeah, that was great. The island turned Hurley's bad luck into good.

Could it be Dharma on the boat, coming to take back the island?

Man this is going to be a long summer, fall and winter with no Lost...

Hey, did anyone besides me notice that twice during Jack's "flashforwards" he talked about his father like he was still alive.  He talked to the pharmacist, who I think would know if a physician was deceased, about his father writing the prescription.  And he told the new doctor to go get his father and compare how drunk they were.
It dawned on me as I was talking to a co-worker.  How could his father still be alive.

Just had to cheer Hurley on.  So awsome!

He was pretty dead when he picked up his body in Australia. But, yeah he did mention his father as if he were alive. So, either it was the oxycodine (sp?) or something we have yet to find out.

Very observant wendygirl!
