I loved this story.  We never know who or what will touch our lives, for the good, and change us forever. Such a wonderful experience for the rescurers.  Thanks for sharing.

that was AWESOME! Much appreciated! I once lived on San Juan Island (off the coast of WA State) with the express purpose of attempting telepathic communication with the Orca Whales. The morning I got there they left for the salmon run, but a couple of weeks later I was at the little grocery store at Friday Harbor and picked up a the local news.

It said that when the pod left for the salmon there was a baby that was premature and did not have the strength to make the run and could barely eat, not yet on it's own.

The pod had NO choice but to go to the salmon run as it's the only way it builds enough strenght to make it through the winter season as the fish of Pueget Sound have been dimminished to nearly nothing (for them).

But when the pod left one of the infant Orca's uncles stayed behind and mashed up little fish to feed him. By the time the pod came back the little one was building it's own strength and would soon be eating on it's own.
