Yesterday I met a young man, Anthony, from New York while waiting in line some where. After talking for a while he explained that he was deaf and was participating in a program that helps unite deaf people from all around the world called
Global Reach Out.
http://www.globalreachout.orgAnthony had spent the last few months helping deaf children at a school in Bangkok and was now traveling around Southeast Asia. I asked more about the projects the organization was doing and how I could get in contact with the director. He replied, "That's easy!" and then stood up and did some sign language to someone standing across the street. Next thing I know I'm being introduced to, Amil, the director of the Global Reach Out organization. Yea, that was easy. lol
Later on the three of us had dinner and we talked about what our organizations were doing and hope to do in the future. Amil has big plans for GRO and I'm certain he will succeed. If you know anyone who is deaf and would like to go abroad, please tell them about GRO.
Thank you Amil and Anthony!
