Has anyone played this game? It looks extremely interesting but I'd like to know more about it before I go out and buy it and set myself up for the monthly $15 to play it. I'm not usually one to play MMORPGs that require a monthly subscription but this game just looks so awesome. Anyone's thoughts? Is it worth the monthly payment?

You're the voice I hear inside my head: The reason that I'm singing. I need to find you. I gotta find you. You gotta scream until there's nothing left with your last breath.

In general I don't like the idea of having to pay every month to play a game since you'll eventually have spent like 500 dollars on a game. Then again, some other hobby can cost a lot more but I guess I just don't really value gaming as high as eg. photography since the game's virtual so you've not really achieved anything even after years of playing it whereas you'd have loads of nice photo's after taking pictures for some time. I quickly got bored of Guitar Hero for the same reason: even if you learn a song on a higher difficulty, who cares? It's just a game. Then again, it takes skills to become good at it but I'd still rather learn songs on a real guitar (even though these two don't really have anything in common, except the shape of the tool) since it's... real. Or something.
Anyway, enough of my philosphical pondering. I headed to Wikipedia to learn a bit of the game and it seems to have gotten an "Honorable Mention, Game of the Year" from the "Stratics Central Editor's Choice Awards 2006". So I guess it's a good game. Of course, if you don't like it after all you can just stop playing it and take it back for a refund. So I'd say go ahead and try it. And I will say that. Go ahead and try it.
