Anyone who knows me knows that I am an avid reader of Newspapers.  While I was in Nong Khai I read the International Herald Tribune, which I highly recommend for english speakers in non-english speaking countries.

My old standard and still an enjoyable read was USA Today, but recently I have graduated to the Wall Street Journal and don't think I can go back.

Unfortunately our local Detroit News and Free Press are the equivilant of a paper run by kindergartners so I pretty much stick with national and International.

What about you?  Whats your favorite paper?

Do you read it online or on paper?  For me personally the paper is like doing yoga or meditating, I take an hour each day and head to a coffee shop and read it.  If I don't get that hour my day feels out of tune.

I rely more on Telvision and Internet news now but, when I travel, I do love to pick up a good national paper, mug of hot tea and sit on a balcony overlooking the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean every once in a while. I like USA Today for straight news. The Journal is good but I also enjoy Investor's Business Daily from time to time.

The New York Times is a propganda machine and I won't touch it.

Sean- I remember the day in Nong Khai when the paper delivery was late to the coffee shop.  You didn't quite know what to do.  Your zen beginning to the day was all out of whack.  Do you remember that?

And Nick- you seem like such an old soul.  What will you be like when you are my old age?   Grin

I only really ever read the news online anymore and I stick to local news...just in my hometown.  Even to do the crosswords, I will print them out from the computer sometimes (I love me a good crossword puzzle, and word jumbles).

Hint:  If you buy your paper out of a sidewalk machine instead of paying for it at a store counter, you will avoid paying the taxes on it.   Grin
