So for my Am. Lit. class, our final book to read is Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. It doesn't have to be finished until May 20, but I can't put it down. Its absolutely amazing. I just started reading it two days ago and I'm two chapters from the end. It's not even May yet!

For those of you who haven't read this book, I highly recommend it. It's a book meant for teens, but I'm sure any sci-fi freak would enjoy it. Its hard to explain what its about but if you read the story, you won't be disappointed.

I might be posting in this topic again in a couple of weeks to ask help from people who have read it. My teacher likes it when we have in-depth conversations with people OTHER than her about the books she assigns us to read.

It's a very good book. Unfortunately, the rest get a bit weird, and aren't nearly as good as the first. Glad you're enjoying it!

Hum...I haven't read it yet. I read a short story spin-off of it though, which was ok.  Looks like a book that makes you think a bit.  Smiley

This book is my personal favorite.

Heather's (in2kermit) right though. The rest are a tough read. Unless you actually know Portuguese. Card relies heavily on the Portuguese language for names and descriptions, though he translates them into English. Still I prefer not to sound out what I'm reading. All in all, his books are good and the entire series is worth reading if you truly enjoyed the first. Also, on a further note, Card's other series, mostly fantasy, are also very good reads, though if you didn't enjoy Ender's Game you probably won't enjoy any of his other works.

I just bought this a few weeks ago and it's in my queue. Maybe I'll have to bump it up a few notches. Sounds like I made a good purchase though! I'll check back in after I read it (which could be awhile).

Read it for the same class, actually.  It was pretty intense for me; my girlfriend just checked out Ender's Shadow for me, and I plan to start that after I reread Something Wicked This Way Comes.
