Has anyone read this book? I'm listening to it now, and have found it rather interesting. Anyone?

That book looks intense. New American Civil War? Looks like someone would make it into a movie soon.

Card is a pretty intense writer. I wish they would make his Ender Series into a movie.

It's interesting. Almost at the end. The scary thing is, I can see it happening. Another civil war, but we start by blaming it on the Iraqis. It's interesting.

I'm curious about the ending...who 'wins' the war...I can see this storyline being made into a movie also.

At the end of the audio book, Orson Scott gave his reason as to why he wrote his book. He was talking about how it was so easy to write the book, because the American people are prime for 2nd civil war. His reasons were this. That we associate our selves with certain parties. The ‘republicans’ have their beliefs, and in order to be a republican, you must believe exactly as they say. If you believe in a majority of the republican beliefs, but say you believe that it’s ok for homosexuals to marry, then you are shunned from the republicans. We’re becoming like the Tootsies and their war. Because they believe slightly different then we do, we’re ready to crucify them. We claim to be the land of the free, but we are rapidly becoming slaves. You have people who want the government to regulate what they eat, because they have no self-control in the McDonald's line. We are rapidly becoming a socialist party state. We want Big Brother to care for us, and pay us our millions when we spill our coffee down our selves. I can see America having a 2nd civil war, and not to far in the future. One part of the book that most disgusted me was the part when a major political figure gets blown up. Instead of the nation mourning, they were trying to make the best headline, so that their programs would be watched, or their papers would be sold. It’s sad, but not far from reality. That’s all I have to say, for now, and I’ll step off my soap box!

I saw a few of Orson Scott Cards' books at the library this week as I was browsing the fiction, but I couldnt remember which book or series had been mentioned here. I'll check the web for some info and sample chapters maybe.

Orson Scott Card is a well known almost a household name where i come from, his father founded a town about 75 miles east of mine named Cardston, Alberta. He is a very gifted writer and i look forward to Enders game when it is completed as a movie. I know many of his relatives too.
