This is my latest.  Needed a book with an ending (had to lay off Dark Tower for a while).  All I know about the storyline before getting the book is that something happens that makes people who were using their cell phones turn into zombie thingys.  And so far, up to about page 20, that's prety much the gist of it.

I know.  I'd be the first one out of the zombie gate, too.  I have not had a landline in years.  My cell phone is my connection to the world.  Well, except for here, but you know what I mean...

I am beginning to think that Stevie doesnt like cell phoners.  Made me wonder if the guy who ran him over years ago and nearly killed him was by any chance talking on a cell phone.

Ok, you guys see when I posted up that I was starting to read this book.  I am not even halfway thru it, but its mainly because my reading time has been severely hampered of late.  My daughter, however, read the whole thing in one day.  And she wont tell me darn thing that happens!   Angry  All I got out of her was while she was reading it:  "OH MY GOD!"  "NO WAY!!" and "HOLY CRAP!" were the repeated mantras she bleated out while reading.  Angry Angry  Now, I am forced to read more than I have time budgeted for it.  And I have found myself uttering at least one "GOOD GOD!"

 Shocked

I hopefully will be finishing this book this weekend.  Once you get past the "this situation is kinda unbelievable" stage and just swallow what King is trying to tell you, accept his world he's created, then its smooth sailing.  I jsut dont like to necessarily "feel" myself having to make the decision to accept the author's presentation of circumstances.  But other than that, so far so good.

Alrighty, I finished this book this morning.  I feel confident in saying it just might be the worst contructed novel I've ever read in my life.  I have a feeling King wrote a much longer and satisying story than what the editors left us with in the final version.

No one should read this book....I want the hours I spent on it back.  You never find out who is behind the Pulse, why they are doing it, if its gonna happen again, you never know if the main character's son gets his normal senses back, key characters are killed off with NO reason whatsoever.  It did nothing to the story but detract.

Both thumbs and big toes DOWN on this one.   Cry

sorry, but...sorry.  Bad book...to me.  Had a whole "must save others" mentality going on with the post.

I appreciate the gesture. This goes for movies too, if something absolutely sucks, let me know. Although you don't have to give away the plot to do so. Lol Wink

As a Fan of King, you ought to read it.  My daughter liked it, read the whole thing in one day.  Its written well, but poorly constructed story.  That's the worst part.  And so unlike anything else of King's I've ever read.  Maybe I am missing something myself in this one.  You bought the book, read it...  I'd love to know what you thought of the things that happen.  How do you fill in the blanks?

I wont ever give away anything like I did here with this book.  But really, read it and let me ask you some questions.  Its killing me.   Huh
