I haven't actually gotten the chance to really look into the button thing. Right now school is coming down on me with a bunch of papers to work on.
Once I get all of that dealt with I will be sure to check those two out. Is Hobby Lobby a store? We don't have those out in California, that I've seen. We don't have a US Toy, but I'll be sure to keep that in mind. Thanks Heather!

Hobby Lobby is such a cute name. I want to have one out here!  Let me know if you find anything there, if you get to go! =)

Well, I have yet to find a decent, affordable button-making apparatus.  But I'm still looking.

Hey by the way, I forgot to mention earlier... Earlier in Feb I put up a tear-away Isara thingy in my step-dad's home doctor clinic, and checked on it each week. By something like 3-4 weeks they were all gone! I guess I'll have to print up more. Smiley

Ok, here's the designs for the handouts/flyers, a tear-off sheet for bulletin boards, and a 2" x 2" sticker printed on either white or clear paper. All files are PDFs with a size of 8.5" x 11".

Flyers (you or Kinkos will need to make 4 cuts - see sample):
1mb PDF - http://www.isara.org/images/isara_flyers.pdf

Tear-Off Sheets (make cuts between url addresses - see sample):
2mb PDF - http://www.isara.org/images/isara_tear-offs.pdf

Stickers (many cuts to make, guides provided - see sample):
300kb PDF - http://www.isara.org/images/isara_stickers.pdf

Thank you to everyone for wanting to get the word out. Don't forget that each person you get to visit Isara will be helping. We don't receive a lot of visitors right now so every extra person you reach will make a big difference. Now go out there and sell! Sell! SELL!!! Go TEAM ISARA!!!!

-pk

Of course, cost/shipping will be taken into consideration, but what about Postage stamps? If not for a year round purchase, maybe around particular holidays, the stamps can be made. Check out this website:

www.photostamps.com

Also, you know how Hallmark has the Golden Crown to seal the cards. We can use the Isara stickers in the same manner, but for whatever we mail out. Take care and be safe, everyone. Gbya

P.S.
Can you send me the flyers, tear-off sheets, and stickers? Krap Khon Kha

Soulessaint, the links above are so that you can print your own tear off sheets, flyers, etc at home. Of course, to print stickers you'd need to buy special paper.

I had my hubby print tear offs at work, but I think ZeroG printed one, then took it to a copy shop and printed more there so he didn't use all his ink.

I think the sticker on the back of the letter is a great idea! I'm leary of stamps b/c they always change the price before I use them all!

Ginafish, I just realized that about the flyers and etc, thanks.

You are right, stamp prices do change. It feels like we just went to 39cts, but from what I've been told, stamps suppose to go up to 41cts.  :)The postage stamps will happen or not, but either way, ISARA RULES Cool It would be nice if there was a discount for Non-Profit Organizations. Take care. Gbya

I actually had Kinkos print them out right from my memory stick I brought into the store.

Don't get me going on stamps. I managed to find some US Stamps which did not have a
price on them. See if you can find those. What gets me about stamps, is that you are pre-paying for them. You are paying the postage when you buy the stamp, not when you mail something. It is like a buying a gallon of gas now for $2.50 and then two years later, you try and use it and it cost you another $0.50 to use your own gas.

I completely understand what you are saying about the stamps, ZeroG.

It would be nice if I found some US stamps without a price. Where did you find some? Take it easy. Gbya

I have been having a hard time getting clearance with this at my school- for these to be posted officially approved on the "bulletin boards" they have to come from an on campus student group. Suffice to say I have settled on placing some in bathroom stalls and at libraries/cafes.

Let's keep it up and check back to refill!

I was hoping for a large image of the blue man to put on one of my notebooks to inspire questions from onlookers. Anyone got the photoshop skills for that?

I hope the street-teaming is going well!

thartley- button making gizmos are harder to find than I thought- I guess my friend got hers in the 80's!?!?! (I don't live near her, so cannot borrow it either)

Good idea, Jane. Let's keep this going.

Another idea might be to speak directly with individual teachers. Let them know that there's a website, which has Google search, and to invite them to encourage their students to Make a Difference by using Isara for their homework research. It's one way the youth can get involved in charity without making a major change in their life.

Some big blue men were posted a while back. Not sure where but here they are again.

Blueman w/Text - http://www.isara.org/images/blue-man_big2.gif

Thanks for the continued support, Jane. Let us know if you have any more ideas.

Operation Fly(not pants) Leutinant Jane Seal

We are on a mission that could be impossible, but it is possible. (Need to get shades, hehe, instead of having smoke we'll have small pieces of confetti popping out, of course orange and blue)

Whatcha think, Leutinant? Gbya

New name, Secret Agent John(SAJ), LOL. They wouldn't figure it'll be a female and they'll just be laughing at the fact that it is another name for the toilet/restroom. I know, silly me!! Take care, Jane. Gbya

Jane, THANKS! Grin Ladies room's are a great place for these! Guys could write 'for a goodtime visit isara.org' inside stalls. he!

Maybe I should buy a folder and just keep some in the vehicle so if I see a place suitable I can do it then, not try to get back to it. Smiley

Edit: They're printed, in a file, in my car. Thanks for the push.
      I'm armed now!! hehehe

Soulessaint- either of the covert names would work for me! Haha!
Ginafish- I really like that "for a good time" idea. Very funny!
Kitkat- always keeping a stash of them handy is great. I'm gonna try to do some running around my hometown and stocking places if I can!

PK- Last time I did the restroom thing they got taken down... all but one area that had most of them ripped off! I hope this time they stay up and I'll be checking back in like a week or so.

I still want a button. I gotta work on that!

Any word on stickers of any sort? And did we augment the size of the logos to fit a sticker sheet?

Happy Saturday night!

The sticker project is on hold until the release of ACORN.
