I have a super busy weekend coming up, but I am making my mental list (which I should really write down, cuz, well, I'm old) of the places I will put up fliers.  Of course, the coffee shop(s), but also, there are two libraries that have huge organization displays.  I will check to see if I need some kind of clearance or permission to leave some Isara 411 for John Q.   Wink

A friend of mine's mom is also a church secretary, just down the road from my home.  I will check there as well to find out if I can post something up.

So, Street Team Jax is gonna be on the map!   Cheesy

Just thought I'd give this topic a bump and an update.
I am working on the stickers. If you don't know, they are static cling stickers.
Now, due to budget constrants, since I'm covering the cost, these aren't your professional, heavy duty, stickers. If you put them on a window and roll it down, they will most likely scratch. So once we get these to the point were they are being sent out, I would suggest something like the corner of your winshield, or the back window; really any place where it won't come into a lot of contact with another part of your car would be fine.

(then again the corner of a glass office door would look nice too.)

Right now I'm just working out the paper and process, but I think PK has really helped with that. Hopefully it won't be too long before they are ready!

I haven't even started yet, just enroled today, but I might be able to get my school in on it. I'm thinking when I start tomorrow I can ask them to change the default homepage of all of the school's computers to Isara.org.  Undecided Sure hope it works.  Smiley

I finally got my printer working (translation: Laurie finally hooked it up because I'm an old standard kind of moron with anything that has a cord...wait, even she came into this world with a cord.  That explains alot.)

So, I just this very moment saw the flyer crawl out of the printer.  Smiley

I'm slow, but eventually, I get there.  Cheesy

I am so ashamed that I did not catch onto this forum long before, nor did I start it! I always thought the whole posting flyers idea would a great way to get people on it!

I want to try to get the people at my school to put something on their website, or change the homepage but I am not sure if they will.. (wish me luck!!)
Until then, I keep on leaving every computer at the library/computer lab at UCSB with an isara page open. One computer at a time~!!

Aaaand a question:
How would one go about printing these nifty stickers? Do you buy one big adhesive page or is there a kind that is already cut in these shapes?

Yaaaayyyy! I'm excited!

Suggestion: buttons. I am certain if you wore a button that said it, people would ask about it or look it up!

Now to make this even longer, I'll take a stab at sloganish business.

-Click to make a change.
-Click-tastic!
-Oh the difference a click can make.
-Change your homepage, change the world.
-Making the world a better place, one click at a time.

Okay I'll try some more later. And I apologize if I mistook reading one of those elsewhere for an "original" idea!

Happy weekend!

Jane, great idea about the advertising buttons! Cheesy

This link my help get some of us started. No minimums.  Personally, I prefer the 1.5" size or smaller.

http://isaraurl.com/BSrvy

I found lots of ads for advertising buttons, big selection Grin

As far as the stickers, Jane, I'm working on those. I'll be printing an entire page at a time and then sending them out. Sorry it's taking so long.

No worries on the stickers Hunter. I'm in no rush, but whenever you get to it I'd love to have some!

Kitkat- I just realised they have a couple different button making kits at Michaels.. Maybe I will go pick one of these up so we can start small. I think I'll wait for the beloved Michael's coupon that sometimes comes in the Sunday paper!  Cheesy

I foresee an "Isara craft night!"

I had another idea- BOOKMARKS!!! Lots of people have brought up that they will be bringing flyers to libraries, and I think that would be an excellent thing to also bring to those reading havens! Once again a simple format done in a program that we could all print up at home would be awesome! =) *hint hint*

I really need to become literate in designing these sorts of things. Perhaps within a year I'll magically be a pro at it!?

One more idea: shall we start a Street Team sub-forum?

Have an excellent weekend everyone!

Jane, thanks for the Michaels suggestion. I'll pick some up next week.  Grin"Isara craft night" count me in!

As far as the book marks, I'd like to suggest using the flyer PK designed. Their 3 to a page, just cut each one and laminate. Maybe even punch a hole in the bottom or top and tie 3/8" wide blue and orange ribbons.  Woohoo!

Thanks Jane, great library idea. Almost every town has a library and also computers to see Isara's projects.  Grin

KitKat- actually when I was cutting up the flyer design that's what made me think of doing a bookmark. But those are a little bit big, and I think maybe we could fit 4 or 5 bookmarks onto the page? - Just to get more out of a sheet, ya know?

I'll head out to Michael's today or tomorrow and see what I can find. Great idea with laminating and ribbon! I'll look for those! =)

Jane, let me know what you find at Michael's for buttons.  There is one not far from me and I'd love to do that.

Hey gals.

Unfortunately when I went to Michael's I could not, for the life of me, find any button-making stuff!

They were a bit crowded so I didn't get to ask any of the workers what they had, but I'll try checking back this week.

I'm definitely not looking for this stuff: http://stores.americanbut...?category=Button+Machines

I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Yikes, I agree with you, they're expensive.
Just let us know if you find anything. I'll check a Hobby Lobby craft store today.

That was going to be my suggestion. Hobby Lobby has tons of those. When I used to work with Special Needs kids, we made buttons. I got button forms at Hobby Lobby. They were about 0.25 a piece. It can get expensive, if you ahve alot to make. Have you tried a place that sells stuff like that in bulk? US toy is a place that sells things in bulk. We have one here, in Kansas, near by. Here's the site
