Sorry, but we're unable to know how much money we've made from just you. Same as other sites like YouTube, MySpace, or G**gle can not tell you how much money they make from your visits either. Just keep using us and rest assured each project we make was possible because of you and other caring people like you.

If you mean post your IP address then don't bother posting it because all of our moderators can see it anyway. It's hidden to regular members but I can see it. lol

P.S. Don't forget to reply to your last topic. We changed your name as requested but we never heard from you again.

I have a question as well: At most  click to donate sites you see a lot of ads. How is it that I don't see them here but you still raise some money with my visits?

Hi Kamilla! First of all, thank you for registering and for posting. We appreciate the support. If you have a moment please visit our "Member Introduction" topic and introduce yourself to everyone. We're always curious where people are from and how they found us.

Topic: http://www.isara.org/foru...troductions/msg29612/#new

To answer your question, we receive money from two different sources. The first is from Google AdSense. You will see their ads in our forum and other places on our site too (webcam, games, etc.). We keep ads off the homepage because we don't want the homepage to be too heavy with ads. It takes away from our message and makes us seem too commercial and corporate. Plus it slows down the load time for the website. BUT there is one very important Google ad on our homepage and that is the Search Box. Each time visitors use that search it helps raise money for our projects.

The second way, is through sponsors who donate depending on how much traffic we receive (or how much they can afford). Right now our sponsors don't want to advertise anything so they're ok with being anonymous. But in the future we will have corporate sponsors who might want to have their name mentioned some where and we'd be more than willing to do that for them.

The most important thing to remember is that each visit helps. We are all volunteers here and if we can get more people, like yourself, to make a small change in their surfing habit, then imagine how much web traffic we can get and then think of how many charity projects we can create.

Thank you again for posting. Hope to see you in the forum more often. Grin

Hi PK,

Thanks for your fast and elaborate answer. I have been searching for the ads, but still couldn't find them. But I will definately come back to use the search engine and  visit the site.

Keep up the great work!

Welcome Kamilla!

To add to PK's answer, it doesn't take as much money as you would think to fund the projects. Ad revenue for isara would not support the smallest website in the United States or Europe. In Thailand, where most of the projects exists, the cost is very low, so a small amount revenue for site through ads, donations or affiliate programs like Amazon goes a long way.

The actual running of the website is all volunteer, so the cost to run the website is VERY low. Isara.org is part of Web 2.0. More specifically, It is a website which gets it main source of content from it's own visitors. So isara.org takes advantage of the strengths of the internet (user supplied content and a little folksonomy) and uses that technology to fund very inexpensive projects to help people in need.
