ATTN: Isara.org Buddy System

Unfortunately the new forum upgrade was not compatible with the old Buddy System that some of our members used. BUT it's times like these when we find out who are REAL buddies are. Right?

To Make New Buddies:
Find posts from your buddy wannabe's and click their username's. Once you're in their NEW & IMPROVED profile section click the "Add to Buddy List" (under the "Contact Me" section). That will Pop-up a window saying that a message has been sent to your new Buddy asking if they consent to the upgrade in your relationship. If they approve then they will be added to your Buddy list.

Wait!!

There's one more step.  Visit your own profile and in your "Profile Control Center" there's a link to "Edit Buddies". There you will see all your "Approved, Unapproved, and Pending" buddies. If your new buddy approved you as a buddy you still need to go into this list and click their "Approve" icon to finalize everything.

That's it! Now all your buddies avatars should appear in your profile.   Have fun adding Buddies to your list!

I notice that only 6 buddies show up on my Buddies list where the avatars appear.  I have more than that.  So I checked a few profiles.  The most that anyone has showing up is 6.  Is this like a Top Six tap out, or something?  I know we can movie buddies up on our list if we go into the Edit Buddies option, but I thought I would ask.  Six is the most we can get to show up with avatars?

I was wondering about this too! I saw my list on my profile and thought "I am pretty sure I have more than that" and then I looked at my edit buddies list and saw that I could change the position. I guess it's kind of like MySpace in that you have your "Top 6" or so, although to me you are all my number 1.

So I suppose the silence from the webmaster means there is no way to increase the number of buddies shown to more than six?

Oh that's right! Mus. got me all distracted. PK, can we maybe adjust the nymber of buddies to be shown to at least 8 or 12? It would make more sense to be a multiple of four anyway since each row has four buddies and we all like things nice and symetrical, right?

I worked on it last night. Went through thousands of lines of code and couldn't find anything which changed the amount shown. I did find the section that changes the amount per row but not the total amount shown.



I'll keep looking.

On the amount per row, was there just one line of code that said like a max of 6? or is there two places of code, one with four, the next with two? Either way, it's not pressing. Don't let this distract you from your primary mission - training for karaoke!

A row limiter would make sense, but because it's not filling the second row with buddies then there must be something else causing it to stop. Hmmmm I'll keep looking.


Edit: Fixed it!!!!  The problem was in a completely different file than I thought it would be.

I kinda feel awful for asking.  You guys cant see PK's eyes on the webcam.  Between staring at the karaoke files and searching through code, well I am just a little concerned.  Hope his eyes are okay come karaoke night.
