Actually no, if you can hold out until Windows 7 is out, you'll be good. Should see the rumblings within the next two years. Besides, you still have XP SP 3 to look forward to!

Back on topic, for those of you who have Vista and installed SP1, this is important info for you. SP1 leaves a mess behind that should be cleaned up, if for no other reason than because it's there. Weblog Digital Inspiration has detailed steps on how to go about this.

There are no manual steps involved. Just open your Windows command prompt and type vsp1cln.exe (short for Vista SP1 Cleaner). It takes less than a minute to execute.
