Converting RA file to MP3 format?

And I can't find a music file converter that nice converts RA files to MP3. Not even paid ones (don't ask, don't tell). I have at least 4 albums that I copied off from my grandfather's computer, right into my USB stick. I go home, and try to convert these to MP3 using a converter I bought about a year ago. It converts some of the songs on each CD, but in the others, the program freezes up. So now I'm looking everywhere for one. Every single one that I try doesn't convert them fully or something like that. I'm just looking for one that WORKS, one that lets me convert a whole bunch of these files at once. Doesn't even matter if it's freeware or not.

You're right, that is a tough one.

Found this blog entry that talks about how to do it. Seems like you'll need Real Player and/or Audacity to do it.

Be careful installing Real Player. It will install a lot of junk, ask you to register (not necessary), and integrate itself into your whole system. I would suggest uninstalling it after you've converted all the files you need.

unfortunately i'm replying to this from my cellphone so i can't be as much help as usual. I can tell you that i did a search for 'audacity convert ra' and came up with a couple of tutorials on how to do this. Needless to say, pk is right. it is difficult.
