...to change the bitrate on a song ALREADY on your PC? I had it set on 192kbps, is there a way I can change the songs on the album I just ripped into my PC to 128kbps? I always try to set it for 128, don't know what happened there.

I just don't feel the need in having a high bitrate, like 320, where songs are almost 8MB.

Anyone care to help?

To answer your question-

Yes.

Now how much fun was that!

To answer your inherent question, well, that's a bit more complicated. It seems the best way (read free) to down-convert an mp3 is to re-encode it. I would use the encoder you used to encode it into mp3, convert it into another format, then re-encode the mp3 at a different bit rate. You may also be able to convert your mp3's to mp3's, just at a lower bit rate this time. There are other options, however the more direct the option the more like it will cost you. I was lucky enough to pick up a program that did just this same thing from GAOTD.com. It is called Reezaa and it may be a viable option for you if you don't mind paying for it. I believe it was $15.

I used Windows Media Player to rip the album to my computer, and the settings were in MP3 192 kbps, when I always had it on 128. I even have some songs in 320kbps that I want to change the bitrate.

I'll see if I can convert it to MP3 as 128kbps.

I just read the info on that Reezaa program, and it may be just what I need. I'll try it out, see if I like it. By the way, what are the limits to the free trial?

EDIT:

Well, I tried using a program I already had (Total Video Converter), set it to convert an MP3 320kbps song to MP3 128, and it worked. Only problem would be that I have to put in the ID3 Tags once again (Artists, album, song number, etc.).

Thanks for zee help.
