When we were in San Antonio, they had a Starbucks on the River Walk which would allow you to make your own Mix CDs. The original CDs are available to buy, but you can also scan the CD under a small flat panel screen and then select a song to add to your own mix CD. Collect about 10 songs, then select a name, and cover design and select "print". They will call your name when your CD is burnt and packaged in your own custom designed CD cover.

The person said it was a beta version of the store, as they were just trying them out. That was over a year ago, maybe they have some in other cites now. Or, just get onto Napster at your house and make a mix CD together.

They evidently they have 4 stores now...

Something you must do first, ask her what she likes to do! Then add your own twist to make it different from how she's done it before.

Aren't you a big theme park fan?  Smiley There's a splurge for ya!  Grin

If she likes to see movies, go to an Art house theater instead of mainstream. Or go to a live performance, play, singing, whatever. It could be a free performance or art exhibit, it could be tickets to Hairspray.

If she likes tennis, go ahead and play at a great park, make a fool of yourself, don't try to be cool, be yourself. Wink  Cool

If she likes girly stuff, see if she'd be up for going to get manicures together. (remember the early days of the fun and random? no Rose scented lotion! Cheesy )

After you get a couple of 'her' dates under your belt, tell her what kind of stuff you like to do..see if there's something she's never done before and would like to try (hmm...maybe play with your dvx? Go for a drive and film the countryside?) Then you could give her a dvd of your date. OOOooooOO!

Gina, you're amazing! Great great ideas!

So far we've gone to the beach, and pier.

We're going to see Wicked (the play) on Thursday night!  And last night we went to a shopping area in Hollywood, and walked around, and had dinner Smiley

The thing is, we have a good time no matter what we do, as long as we're together!

Best date I ever had was with a guy who managed a Panera bakery.  He closed the place early, set a single table with linen, china, and candles.  He programmed the overhead music specifically for the evening, and made an assortment of special breads in a basket with seasoned olive oil.  After talking for a little while, a waiter came down to the Panera store from a seafood restaraunt in the same strip mall and took our orders.  Then brought the dinner to us, hot and delicious.

Too bad the guy turned out to be a psycho.   Grin

Ok... so, I HAVE to tell you all about my night last night.  I took Rachael to see the play "Wicked" in hollywood last night, and my sister and her "special friend" came with us too! Smiley  So... let me give you all the lowdown... Smiley

So, I went out and bought her favorite candy for her, and I also bought a CD of the soundtrack to the play, and hid it in my car. I also got her a little fake rose as well, and I didn't tell her we were going to have sushi before the play, which is her favorite, and not really mine, but whatever. So, surprise #1, she saw the candy (left it in the front seat so she saw it when she got in the car). Then we drove to the sushi place (surprise #2).  Then after we ate, I gave her my camera bag, and she loves playin with my camera, so she opened it, and boom, the rose was there (surprise #3).  Then we went to the play, and saw the play, which was terrific! Then we got back to the car, and I pulled the CD out and gave it to her (surprise #4!) Smiley  She was so speechless.  When I hugged her goodnight, she said, "Brandon, tonight was perfect!"  I was so happy!  Smiley
