Well, I contacted Sydney Council (NSW, Australia)the other day regarding their NYE celebrations, and, their charities for the evening. The kind person who answered my email replied, in part:
"If you have a particular proposal/recommendation you were intending on
putting forward, please email through to me and I will circulate it to
the relevant members of the New Year's Eve team for their consideration."
So I was thinking, could they be serious!!?

I replied and asked if Isara.org could get a mention, and that person (who will remain anonymous) if they would visist the site themselves.
I then got an email back:
Dear Hayden,
Thank you for your reply.
The official charity of Sydney New Year's Eve produce it's own Community
Service Announcements (CSA's). These are aired (at no advertisement
cost) at the disgression of each television station. In 2006, the
official charity also entered into agreement with the host broadcaster
which also involved securing some advertisements via payment.
I (and some of my colleagues) have reviewed your website. We wish you
well in your charitable pursuits."
We might not get a mention during Sydney's live NYE fireworks evening tv spectacular, but at least some people payed a visit.
