Like many of you, when I was a youngster, I looked forward to getting an Easter basket. Some of our parents went to a lot of trouble to make Easter a fun holiday filled with colored boiled eggs and chocolate.

If you've ever thought about repaying your parents the favor, maybe this year is the year to do it. But instead of eggs and chocolate bunnies, how about a buying a dozen chicks or 3 rabbits?

What? Your parent's don't have a farm? Then why not buy them for a needy family and give your parents a gift certificate (and maybe some chocolate too) just to tell your parents you appreciate all the effort they went through to make Easter special for you as a child.

I'm starting this year with my parents, next year it might be my sister. Smiley Just an idea for you to consider.

This got me thinking, what do chicks and bunnies have to do with Easter? The Origins of Easter Celebrations did a good job of explaining it.

I like this idea of giving to others at Easter, especially someone in a foreign country.  Good find.
Thank you for making us more aware of giving, rather than receiving for Easter. Cheesy

ZeroG - Thanks for the link, a very informative website. Cheesy  Questions I've often asked myself. Good find.

My bus driver gave everyone easter eggs as they got off today. Just enjoyed mine then. Smiley
