Why are you selling bottled water? Aren't you aware of the incredible amount of waste bottled water causes? My home town of Manly has banned bottled water and installed drinking fountains.

I think that's a great idea for your town to provide drinking fountains.  This goes back to the way it used to be years ago.  Unfortunately, our small town doesn't have the money to install water fountains, so in the meantime, why not help people during a heat wave and help Isara at the same time.  I see nothing wrong when you can help prevent someone from having a sun stroke.  ( Note: I'm very much aware of the waste involved in selling bottled water and I feel badly about that.)
Your town is setting  a good example for the rest of the world!  Grin  Maybe, one day, our small town can do the same. Grin

You gotta hand it to Australian's. They are very environmentally conscious.

No worries mate! There is a recycle logo on every bottle.  Grin

We use to buy several large bottles of water each day here at the ILC and then would give the empty bottles to poor families that would sell them. But we decided that it was MUCH better for the environment (and the ILC) to get the large 3 gallon jugs of water which are then refilled. That way there's absolutely no environmental impact (the jugs are reused) and it saves us A LOT of money each month (3 gallons is only .30 cents - compared to .50 cents for one bottled water). But I feel really bad for the families that would make money selling our recyclables. There's no way for them to win in this situation, without the environment losing.

GinaFish, you may not have gone bad mod this time, but you have all those icons saved up for when you do! Cheesy

Argh, that's terrible. I mean I get why someone would want to do it, but I am quite happy toting my water bottles around town. Besides, studies have shown that drinking fountains are some of the worse germ infested areas ever. In fact my doctor told me to stop drinking from them because it would keep me healthier.

Posh! Don't worry about it. I think we have all written things where the tone gets lost in translation, if you will. I know I have. That's the issue with text is that there are few ways to show emotion and sometimes things don't sound the way they are meant to.

Nick, yes we're having 99-100 degrees, a heatwave. It's not normally this hot now.
There's a huge Texas Bikers Rally going on this weekend in Austin.  We're located about 45 miles south of Austin.   Lots of bikers in town and they travel in large groups.  I hope to sell lots of water this weekend for Isara.   I always tell the bikers there donation goes to purchasing helmets for Isara's Helmet Donation.   Grin  I tell them to spread the word to their riding buddies and they do.   Grin   I sold about 20 bottles today to bikers.  Grin  The money also goes to other projects, not just for helmets.   Cheesy

Stasven, it's okay mate!     Keep smiling!

Nice pics Kitkat, Thank you for sharing.   I think the bottle people can take a way with them which that's good.
And everyone can help by recycle them. The  way of we're doing things to help our world and environment are different way sometime. But still the same target.
Keep helping our world out everyone, no matter which way we can. Wink

Thanks Ming,  whenever I see bottled water I think of Nongkhai.   Cheesy   I drank more bottled water when I was there than any other time.   I know Nongkhai is  very good at recycling their used water bottles.  Cheesy

Ginafish has turned me into a bag lady.  She gave me a blue canvas bag while we were in Texas, and I carry that sucker with me everywhere now.  I used to not even carry a purse, not even a small one.  But I have to carry a bottle of water, my terry cloth towel, and usually my camera, and my money is in a littel ziploc bag ever since Spng Kran.....everything goes in the bag, most importantly my big bottle of water.

Cheesy I just didn't want you trying to carry water, and your camera in your hands while riding your spiffy bike. I'm big on safety, ya know. Grin

One of our satellite channels has changed to the "Green Channel". I was watching a show about an actor building a green house, and he went into a store that carried upscale aluminum canisters for sale as water bottles. Supposedly, you'd refill the canister, if it ever needs to be recycled, aluminum is more recycle friendly, and the canisters are cool expressions of you. Roll Eyes

I think KitKat selling water is a great benefit for the health of the hot people, her store and for Isara.
