What's the best concert you've seen?

Best bang for the buck: Rolling Stones
Best performance: Robert Plant and Jimmy Page
Best Pre-Show: NIN had the Jim Rose Circus. Bizaarroo!

Who do I want to see still? U2. Prince. Janet Jackson. Josh Groban.:side:

hmmm, I love live music, but I hate crowds.  We just now got a new venue that is actually built with good acoustics in mind here where I live.  But the best concerts I've seen have usually  been at way smaller venues.  I saw Cheap Trick about 20 years ago in a tiny little club, and they were awesome!  My favorite band to see live is called Seven Nations, a mixture of rock and traditional scottish folk music. heh!  They do a really crowd friendly fun show.

Also saw They Might Be Giants live here in a small venue, and they FUN!!!!!!

At present, I think I would love to see Jack Johnson live...and Jimmy Buffet.

A friend of mine saw Coldplay in a small place in Dublin right after they came out with Parachutes. The way she described it was awesome.

Best one I personally went to was Lyle Lovett in 1985 at a small venue in Houston. He opened for Bonnie Rait. The best sound was an Aerosmith concert about the same time (before Permanent Vacation). I never heard \"The Summit\" sound so good.

\"Best Concert\" seems like an oxymoron. The best shows are in the small venues. Especially ones where you can chat with the band between sets. Can't do that at a concert.

I remember seeing a concert with my brother, yeeeears ago. I think it was Poison and David Lee Roth. Smiley Good times.

ZeroG, I also saw a few Lyle Lovett concerts. He's always a great performer. He has these funny stories he tells between songs. If you've ever seen him live you can see how the whole Julia Roberts thing could happen. He's a cool guy.

One of my favorites was Peter Gabriel in Seattle because it was a rare performance and completey spontaneous.  I asked this girl I was interested in what she wanted to do and she said, \"Let's go climbing.\" When a girl you like wants to climb a mountain you GO climb a mountain. So after crawling up this peak (she discovered i'm a wimp, real quick) we sat on the top and looked over the Seattle valley.  After a while we noticed an area that had a lot of activity (looked like a festival) so we decided to go check it out. We climbed back down and then drove over. The guy at the gate said it was the WOMAD Festival and that Peter Gabriel and Afro Celt Sound System might make a surprise appearance. We got one of the last tickets and, sure enough, Peter Gabriel came out and performed some of his greatest songs. He also had his daughter sing with him on one song.

It was an incredible day.

Best concert I have ever seen was Story of the Year at the Avalon in LA.  WOW, they rocked.  I've never seen that much energy on stage... never.

And, I totally want to see Josh Groban in concert.  He's like my new favorite artist.  That guy can sing!

I have to say the best concert I've ever been to is Paul McCartney. I saw him twice in 2002 and once last October, and all 3 shows were amazing. He's an unbelieveable performer, and shoot, every song is amazing.

I've also seen Coldplay (LOVE them!), U2 (awesome stage!), and this fall I'm going to see Eric Clapton.

Been to a few concerts , Im going to see dragonforce in september and menmic in november. Apperently bands like Kiss and Rammstein, who use lots of things on stage have the best rated concerts. Things like fire and such, rammstein being notorious for fire, flash and bang pots, flamethrowers, flamethrowers attached to guitars, FT attached to their mouths, FT shooting suit, lighting the lead singer on fire, crowd surfing in an inflatable dinghy, and many more things, some which I dont want to discuss because they are a bit mature.

Add me to the Lame-O list, b/c I'd would really have enjoyed seeing REM on the \"Green Tour\". Smiley The Rammstein concert mentioned by Sixdust, not so much. Smiley

A bit mature is an understatement. I saw this one video....nevermind. You want a good show like that see the Genitortures or Crossbreed.

My all time best concert...Killswitch Engage in New York. They had to cut the set short, but that just made the crowd more fun.

And Briceman, I haven't seen SotY live yet, but I have seen video. They are insane.

Alright I got a few changes of plans, first off, I was going to see dragonforce in september, then I found out the day before is giganfest  Grin which I more than want to see, you got Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Opeth and Lamb of God heading the tour, there are also 4 other supporting acts and some other bands that will come unannounced. It starts at 4:30 in the afternoon and goes into the night. Then I noticed that Iron Maiden was touring for their new album, and they stop by once in NY which is october 12th, and I already bought tickets for it (nosebleed seats were the only ones left and with taxes and fees, the cheapest tickets turned into the more expensive ones. then I still have mnemic to see in november.

The best is Toto two (or three?? I don't remember.... Grin) years ago...A FREE concert in the biggest square of my town. The show was great, they were great and no-one had to pay for them. This is the right way to do concerts Cheesy

Another great concert was Dream Theater in 2004 (the ToT tour): their lives are amazing: enormous stage, screens, light and they play perfectly...
