This thread is for Pk's Mom. Smiley

Yes, I watch American Idol.

This is my first season to watch all the way through. Most years before I would watch the first 3 weeks of the tour, and then maybe tune in the last couple of shows to see the finalists. I watched the  Clay and Rueben end, and think now based on charts, that Clay who won second probably deserved the first place.

I think the American Idol producers are keen to that since this year, they are giving the top two equal contracts, I believe. So already, Katherine and Taylor are good to go. Smiley

My favorite's from the beginning were Taylor and Chris. After Chris got the boot, I actually tried to call in this week to vote for Taylor.

This was the first week I understood why anyone had McPheever. Her singing \"Over the Rainbow\" was really an Idol moment.

My favorite thing about Taylor is that yes, he sings like he's on a cruise ship or karaoke most of the time, but he just has such fun.

I have also watched a couple of other reality shows in the past, notably Survivor. Didn't watch this year though.

So what makes you like Katherine? Smiley
Will anyone else admit that they watch?

Hi Ginafish,
Loved your comments about American Idol.  I like Katherine because she has the whole package; talent, beauty, and star quality. She was always so comfortable on stage.
She will probably go films. I'll bet she can act too. Her camera close ups are something else.  Whether she wins of not, I know, we will definitely be seeing more of her on film.
( Hollywood needs to be producing less intense films.) Our country is too stressed.
Uh oh, I getting off track, again.   I do that all the time.

It's okay to go off topic. Smiley I'm all for less stressful films too! That's why I'm now looking forward to \"The Lake House\" more than \"The Da Vince Code\".

I'll agree with you that Katherine is a beautiful girl, much easier on the eyes than Elliot, but there is something about Taylor's youthful gray that's nice as well.

The judges and guest singers kept talking about Katherine's great vocal range, but I never really saw it until the \"Over the Rainbow\". She really gave it her all without twisting the song so much you didn't recognize it. I do like that Katherine always chose songs that were more  age appropriate than Paris did. Mandisa was probably my favorite girl early on though. Too bad for country night. :S

I'm just curious as to what the producers will do with the winners when the show is over...Will they try to produce a Joe Cocker kind of album with Taylor, and a Celine Dion type with Katherine? I just don't know.

You guys are really up to date on this stuff.
I was very surprised when Chris was booted.  I felt he was the best male vocalist on the show.  But, I did hear he was offered lead singer for a top rock band.   I'm sure you know who it is.  I'm not that up to date on hard rock music.

Some band called \"Fuel\" is looking for a new lead singer. I'm not very up to date on current music either. I balked this morning when I was listening to \"oldies but goodies\" and they were playing songs from the 60s!! Is that old music??

Well, next Tuesday, I know what I'll be doing... trying to catch a little American Idol! Woohoo! Smiley Are you going to watch the finale?

Ok, for the first time ever, I watched the whole episode.  And I cant say who will win!  But I know why (I think) I dont watch it.  I feel bad for the contestants having to hear what the judges have to say, whether its good or bad.  I feel bad for their antipication and anxiety.  So I mute the judges' comments and find its pretty watchable.     They were both good.

Briceman, You're right, I think Taylor is going to win. He was really hot last night.  He really had the audience behine him.

Thartley, I agree with you about the judges, especially Simon,
he is really crule to the contestants.  I get so angry at him, I want to stop watching.  You're idea to mute the judges remarks just solved my delima.
That was very clever of you. Thanks:P   Next season, that's exactly what I'll do.

Congratulations to our new American Idol Taylor Hicks. He is awsome! Our \"Soul Patrol\" leader now has the fantastic opportunity to show us his real talents.  Get ready America! Tongue

I saw Clay Atkin preform last night and he was wonderful. I really like his new hair style.  B)  He didn't look nerdish anymore. Very confident and mature on stage. WooHoo for Clay!:P Tongue

Your welcome, Mom. Smiley Now it'll just sit here till next season.

Favorite moments of the finale: Chris singing with Live. Giving Props to the Brokenote Mountain boys (two of which could actually sing). Seeing Simon Cowell's introduction (\"I give myself a ten\"). Overall, very entertaining show. I might watch the whole season again next year. Maybe not. Smiley
