Back on topic, Wink 500 songs is a lot longer of a list than you really wrap your brain around at first. The list kept going and going, and I knew many of the top 100 but down further..

489.Sly & The Family Stone  Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)

Um?? Think anyone can dig this up on youtube?

Oh yeah, no.8 Hotel California.
I taught that song today in my adult class.  Gave an interpretation of the metaphors in the song... do you know what it is really about?

well first you have to learn how to do the tiger-claw and the patient crane attack, then you have to wax-on wax-off my car... er... um.. oh yeah..
Hotel california is about drugs, its full of metaphors for living the high life and being addicted to powerful drugs like cocaine and heroin.  Having ones mind set on the materialistic things of the world and being addicted to the point where you cant quit even though you want to.

Wow Matt s.! Thanks! Grin

The title in the article was a bit misleading. I hear "Thank you for letting me be myself again". Not Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)

Obviously, these guys had a HUGE impact on Prince and Lenny Kravitz. Their funky style and fashion sense. I just wonder if the guy with the red turban looks back at this footage and thinks to himself. "Man, I was one crazy cool cat." Cheesy

cool no problem. 70s funk is my specialty. Sly Stone is a big influence on many artists. Also Janet jackson sampled this track for her Rhythm Nation song.

That guy probably still wears the turban cuz he already knows hes cool Smiley

I haven't trusted a Rolling Stone "top 500 whatever" list since they did the best guitarists of all time list, and not only were Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, nor Ynwie Malmsteen listed anywhere on it, but Jack White made the top 10. That's not a travesty, that's such an atrocious downright iniquity that a member of the clergy would be first in line to dunk the author's head in a vat of holy water.
