Last Wednesday I noticed the movie WALL-E was showing at the theater here in Nong Khai. I thought it would be a movie the children at the nearby HIV/AIDS orphanage (Sarnelli House) would enjoy seeing so I talked with the theater manager. She said Wednesday was the last day for WALL-E at the mall. I then told her my idea and asked if they could have a special showing on Saturday morning, just for the kids. She said sure and even offered a 50% discount on all the tickets. Next I drove out to Sarnelli House and made arrangements for all 120 children to see the movie. They were very excited and couldn't wait to see it.

This morning, at about 10:30am, the kids started arriving to the mall. They ranged from 4 years old to about 14 years old. We also invited the staff too. In total there were about 150 people who went to the movies with us. There were so many people the theater manager had to bring in extra seats. Oh! And it wouldn't be a Day at the Movies if there weren't some snacks too! So the kids had access to all the snacks and lollipops they could eat.

As a souvenir we managed to procure a few posters for the kids to remember their Isara Day at the Movies. Judging by the laughter and the smiles I think the kids really enjoyed WALL-E and will be hanging the posters on their wall as soon as they get back to Sarnelli House.

Today was one of those days that I wish each one of you could be here to experience. Thank you for making it possible with your support.
Cost (including snacks): $160

Wow, that looks fantastic.  I've been to The Sarnelli House before the children there are really cute.
We played with them and they were enjoyed themselve so much. Their smiles bright up that area.  I very happy to see their smiles again.

Thank you very much Isara people to created such great projects. Wish I were there to enjoyed the real event.
I'm sure the kids are enjoyed this and they will remember this day forever.

Wonderful project!   Smiley

I'm so happy about this!  I secretly was really hoping we could do this while i was there but funds were tight.  I'm so glad they all got a chance to go. Grin

Was Pookie there?  I don't see her in the pictures.

Awesome PK!
That is such a good thing to do for these kids... I'm sure thats not something they would be able to afford to do without the support of Isara.
They look happy to be there and go experience something new.
Thanks for all the photos
