This morning, thanks to our friend Martin, we had an opportunity to visit an orphanage outside of Nong Khai. There are more than 50 children there and they are all HIV positive. You would think visiting such a place would crush your heart and leave you feeling sad but, like most experiences in Thailand, it never ends up how you think.

Within 5 seconds of our arrival we knew that this was a special place. The children immediately ran up to us and started holding our hands, jumping on our backs, and inviting us to play games with them. They were the happiest children I have ever met. We took about 50 photos and there isn't a single photo lacking a smile. It was obvious they were loved and in good hands where they were.

Isara is always looking for people that need help, but it's refreshing to occassionally find places that don't need our help. But that doesn't mean we're not going back. We're already making plans to go back for another playtime.

If the photos make you smile, imagine how it felt to actually be there.

Those pictures are great! Can't wait to hear about the next playdate. Smiley Maybe those kids would enjoy learning some American games like Red Rover, Red Rover?
