Some of you might be wondering what projects are in the works, so here's a quick update.

Isara Writing Contest - A few days ago Isara met with the Education Department and proposed a Writing Contest that would result in the giveaway of more than 150 helmets to students at 10 public schools. The students will be asked to write a one page essay about \"Why you should wear a helmet?\" The winner will receive $75 and 50 helmets for their school. Second place - $50 and 25 helmets. 3rd place - $25 and 10 helmets. 4th to 10th place will each receive 10 helmets. A total of $150 and 155 helmets ($550) will be given away. The government wants this to be a \"pilot project\" and if it goes well then it will be proposed to other districts and provinces. Of course, we don't have the budget to do this contest again, but maybe our web traffic will increase in the next month or so.

Teachers in the Villages - With the help of Travel to Teach, Isara has continued to provide a foreigner teacher in a small school outside of Nong Khai. We hope to find more volunteers to help at other needy schools.

TBA Nepal Project - Prakash continues to do a great job finding projects for us to do in Nepal. In the next few weeks we will try to create a new project that will deal with important health issues.

Website Updates - This next week the website will, once again, go through some changes. Some of the changes may stay around for a while, others might be deleted after only a few minutes. If you see any crazy stuff, just wait a minute and hopefully things will be back to normal.

New Article and Podcast - This Monday we will have a new article and podcast ready for you. It will include information about the trip to the USA, Mom's Fundraiser, an award Isara received, and much more. Stay tuned.

Thanks to all of you for visiting the site and posting in the forum. You all never cease to amaze me. You're great! Smiley

Thanks for the update! Smiley If you need some people to judge the writing contest, you know where to find us. Smiley

As for crazy website stuff, I'll do my best to be patient. Smiley

Can't wait to hear what Prakash has planned and what the podcast will say.

Now...get to bed! Smiley

PK, we forgive you.  But not for long. haha!!!  Seriously, you're doing a great job of manning the helm.  (does one man a helm?  I dunno---steering the ship, at any rate)  Keep it up.  Smiley

UPDATE:
We have one more project to announce and it's a big one. Because of a generous donation from a long time supporter of Isara (Barry Green), we have begun the process of creating a college scholarship to a local Thai citizen. Once we find the receiver of the scholarship we will make the announcement on the frontpage.

Please keep in mind that a 2 year college education only costs about $200-$300 here. That's all. If you or your office want to also help provide a scholarship please let us know. The money goes directly to college, which then records the students tuition as paid in full.
