There's been some topics she'd usually find interesting (Good luck Ming, Photo Contest, Canvas Bags) but she hasn't posted. Did she think we wouldn't notice if the #2 poster went missing? lol My spies at Mut-Mee say she's still in Nong Khai so I don't think she's been hit by a tuk tuk or anything. Hmmm Maybe Mus. or Nick said something to frighten her away (they've frightened me away a few times). Or maybe it's a silent protest for Isara's cruelty to animals (we've had to relocate the ILC frogs again). Oh well. If you see thartley tell her we miss her posts but we understand she has to do what is right for her (and the frogs).

Woah! When have I scared you away? Oh, and GinaFish, you'd better be careful. If it weren't for that "no good site" I wouldn't have found Isara. Although, now that I think about it, maybe that would be better for all of you.

Non-sense Nick, I'm happy you found Isara on dvxuser's website and you're here with us. There are lots of great folks over at your other website. Your friends at dvxuser are a big supporter of Isara. Right about now, I think Terri's getting ready to head back home to the U.S.

Just finished finally reading Terri's last blog entry from August. Obviously she is OK and still in Nong Khai, but her silence is deafening. What's up Terri? Why so coy?

Not being coy. Just transitioning, I guess. Taking stock. Planning next steps. I hate moving, in case any of you missed how much I despise this particular nasty facet of being in a nomadic state of existence. I don't really make a great nomad as travel seems to stress me out, as I have learned about myself while here. But here is one thing I am looking forward to being involved with back in the states. None of you really knows how much biking used to be a part of my life, how much of an avid cyclist I was. Mostly, off-road trail riding, but I was training for a street ride for charity one morning when I was hit by a cadillac (I've told that story before here a couple times). I developed fibromyalgia sometime after that accident and people in the medical community are now making connections between traumatic injury/head injuries and the condition. There is a guy back in my home town who is working like crazy, advocating bike commuting and infrastructure improvements, as well as education. Ironic that I traveled halfway around the world before meeting him. I wasn't going to post this, but what the heck... http://bikejax.blogspot.c...e-terri-hartley-thai.htmlEveryone who comes over here to Thailand who is involved with Isara seems to go away changed in some major way. While nothing seemed to go as expected for me in my time here, I can honestly say the universe knew exactly what the best and right things for me were to be. I was unprepared and pleasantly blind-sided by all the gifts that continue to fall into my life, like the rain outside. I thought I would come here, do some volunteer work, shoot some film, take some pictures, and have some great stories to tell. But I am going away from here changed. More than volunteering, I learned how to recognize need. More than film and photos, I learned how to see my whole world differently and with new eyes. And more than telling great stories, I know I will be living them (and that is way cooler).

Thank you for posting the link. There's some great info in there and it makes me want to use Sean's bike more often. Actually, starting tomorrow, I'm going to use the bike each time I go to 7-11. No more motorcycle for quick trips to the store. Also, that photo slide-show feature is really cool. Nice choice of pictures. They really say "Thailand". Sounds as though you're leaving Nong Khai with more than what you came with (and I don't mean silverware from the ILC). Have a great journey home and good luck with settling in back home. I hear its kind of difficult getting back into the rhythm of the real world but you always have us here to help you get your fix of Nong Khai. ja kid teung koon (will miss you) pk

That was a great article. So you are heading back in October? What day? Don't forget your obligatory Isara pose under the sign. I look forward to reading about your trip back, but don't try and top the trip there. Will you be doing more filming for the doc when you get back?

Terri, good to hear from you again. Great post and article. I am sure they will miss you in Thailand but I will be happy to have you back stateside. Actually, I guess it won't be much different considering we don't live near eachother. At any rate, don't become a stranger to Isara or DVXuser for that matter.

LoL! Nick, I think I've said the same thing to T when she moved to Thailand...that it wouldn't be much different for me, since we lived so far apart. Thanks for checking in Terri! The article on the Jax Bike Blog was very nice, and I'm excited to see you returning to school! Do you think you have it in you to ask enough questions for a Journalism degree? Jk - Great Choice!

I have no doubt that if you want to follow up a Journalism degree up with a career in hard news, that you WILL be able to come up with Hard news questions. Have you given any thought into what career you'd like to pursue? Magazine writing? Short Story writing? Newspaper journalism?

Ha! I was just trying to follow up your question about whether I had it in me to ask questions with a question. Just practicing. And while I have given thought to what I want to do and say, I am not sure about the vehicle I will use. More than likely, my vehicle will be a sort of hybrid. heh! I am looking at a few different options right now but when I get back to the states, its safe to say that my plate is full. I just don't know yet how far out the menu might be planned. (I sure like to relate everything to food, don't I?)

Hmmm....journalism and food.... Most newspaper articles = microwave meals little nutritional value, quickly created, quickly forgotten Readers Digest Type Magazine = home cooked meatloaf sometimes with surprise vegetables In-depth investigative reports (tv or print) = slow cooked ribs something to sink your teeth into. Tabloid magazine/Entertainment News Show = junk food but who can resist that bag of chips once in a while?? Scientific Frontier, or Business World = cavier appears simple if it's your specialty, foreign if it's not Books = Julia Child recipe hard to create, but delicious to eat.
