Singing their praises, I would suggest
The RoasterieThey have an excellent smooth texture, and their dark roasts are so full bodied you can get a buzz off the package.
I tend to like the small time roasters, as they are more likely to put out a good bean. These guys are some of the best.
For commercial roasters, well, who doesn't like
Gevelia?
I took a look at Raven's, pretty sweet packaging.
Badasscoffee looked interesting, but um, I couldn't find the coffee.
Coffeefool has a really good point, to those who don't know, fresh coffee is a whole other "bean" than your prepackaged, preground (ie folders, Maxwell house..) coffees. I hate other peoples "coffee" so much I have my own pot in my office.
I will also say that I'm not partial to Starbuck new prepackaged coffee line, nor do I see any need for Ghirardelli coffee. At easily $15 for 3/4 of a pound, it just seems ignorant. Not to mention, um, they make chocolate, not coffee. Seem odd to anyone else?
