I have noticed over the years that there are two types of people when it comes to eating. The first is the person who doesn't particularlly care what they eat, not talking about nutrition here, but doesn't care about the way it looks, tastes, or appreciates the way in which it was prepared. The second cares about food; the nutritional benefits, the textures, the subtle flavors, smells and quality. I fall into the second catagory and mostly think about the nutritional benefits, but we always fail b/c my husband and I love eating out once or twice a week. We really try to order low fat food, but just can't resist ordering everything that's bad for us. Have you noticed that the foods you need to stay away from are the ones you love the most? So what kind of eater are you? Why do you love food? What's your favorite?

I fall into the second category too, but mostly ignore the nutritional benefits and I hate to cook. I do have preferences for certain textures, and always appreciate how food was prepared, and all the workers from the fields to the store that it took to bring it to my plate. Is there a such person as one who doesn't care how food tastes??

Is there a such person as one who doesn't care how food tastes?? Sort of... two people in my family in seperate incidents lost the ability to smell and taste. One of the people got it back after a few months, the other has had hampered senses in that category for years. It prob wont ever come back. As for myself, I fall into a middle ground of the two eating categories above. I do care how food is prepared, but mostly because I want to know the person cooking had clean hands, dont cough or sneeze into the pans, I dont like using salt at all. I dont really care how it looks on the plate. As for the nutritional stuff, I pay attention, but dont always heed.

Well I'm now living with my mum's partner who, incidentally is an MD. I love to eat burgers and pizza and sometimes fries but whenever I do he just gives me a big frown, pulls a funny tone and tells me how bad it is for me. Orange soda is another one of those. It's always good to have a healthy salad on the side of a Pizza, some Roquet; Spinach; Tomato; Spanish Onion; and some healthy dressing. As for Orange Soda a good substitute is some Lemon Ice Tea.

Darn Tex'n. Nestea is a good brand. Lipton is alright, but I prefer Nestea. Bottled Ice tea only. No dodgy home made stuff for me.

i appreciate a nicely prepared meal but it seems hard to come by these days, i eat out a lot and have been forced to accept mediocre food unless you want to pay an arm and a leg it seem convenience is almost more important these days
as far as clean hands and sneezing..your never gonna know either way so as long as i don't see it i don't really think about it

I hate it when my mum cooks me food. I found this massive hair in my Burrito wrap once. Almost vomited.

I've watched Top Chef a couple times last weekend and just wonder at the fact that they dip their fingers in the food, taste food on finger, then just go right on with the food prep. I am freaking a bit about all the salmonella cases from the spinach, bagged salads, and now this morning I hear there are a bunch of cases in something like 39 states from both Peter Pan peanut butter and the Great Value brand from Walmart! What's up with the salmonella?
