James must be excited! He'll no longer be the only boy! ...wait...or will that make it harder? Nah, I bet  they'll all be excited no matter if it's a boy or girl.

Well, everything went great at the doctor yesterday. The ultrasound looked really cool, we got to see the baby waving at us, throwing punches ( Wink) and turning it's head. However, the little stinker would not roll over to show us if it's a boy or a girl! Had it's back to the screen the entire time, lol. So maybe next u/s we can find out. But really, as long as the baby is healthy, that's all that matters to us. My quad screen also came back negative which was a relief, I know sometimes that test can be a "false" positive. It was incredible the change in the appearance of the baby since my last u/s in October. Amazing to see the eyes, nose, fingers, etc.  Cheesy

Here's a pic from my first u/s back in October - things look a bit different now!  Wink My hubby is supposed to be scanning the pics from yesterday's u/s really soon, and when he does, I'll post a good one where you can see the face and hand.

That is so cool! The baby moving around stage. Until it gets to the feet in the ribs 24/7 stage. But even then, it's still it's cool.

I'm thankful you weren't hurt in the accident!

Have you and Bill agreed on any names yet? What about you, Pepperland? Any names? Chad? Yours is coming soon! One month to go! Surely you've got a couple of names picked out. Cheesy

I had a doc appt yesterday, but just for a checkup, no ultrasound. I go back on the 16th of Feb and at the appt after that I will have another ultrasound, along with the bloodsugar test. Which means I have to fast beforehand. Which makes me nervous b/c I am hungry all the time  Wink I'm feeling a lot more movement, but nothing strong enough to make me uncomfortable (yet!) getamanda, you've only gained 1 pound?? Lucky! I think I've put on 21 total or something like that. But, I was trim to begin with, and I'm tall, so I've got that working in my favor. As far as names go, the only thing I know for sure is that if it's a girl, her name will be Abbey. I've always liked that name, it's in my family history, and it just so happens to be a great tribute to my favorite Beatles album, Abbey Road.  Cheesy I'm having trouble thinking of middle names, but I like Abbey Rose and Abbey Grace. If it's a boy, we haven't thought of anything yet. Hopefully I'll know that at my next ultrasound.

Hmmm...Abbey. I like Abbey. I hope you don't mind if I suggest a middle name, just for fun. I went to your profile and was reminded of your 'love' of Ewan McGregor and it got me to thinking of Scottish baby names. So I found a website with those type names. Then I noticed that Rose and Grace sort of mean things to me, that they might mean to you, and thought this had a nice ring.
Abbey Jean
Here's the meaning of jean:
http://www.babynology.com..._name-meaning_Jean_f.html

I have always enjoyed looking up names and their meanings. I went back to the Scottish website, and it has Rose. Smiley too funny.

Ok, do you know how weird this is?? My middle name is Jean! Not kidding. Spooky, huh? I had actually considered that also, just didn't mention it on here.  Smiley And I really like Scottish names a lot, I have a bunch of Irish background in my family, so a lot of those names appeal to me too. I'd like to find a boy name with Scottish/Irish meaning.

My son's middle name is Douglas. Which is Scottish, meaning dark river. And could be shortened to just Doug. Smiley

And yes, it is spooky/funny/bizarre that your middle name is Jean and out of thousands of names I picked it.Cheesy I must be psychic...I meant psychotic. Ha!

And I still think Abbey Jean sounds good together. So the question is..do you like your middle name?

I do like my middle name, it's after my Aunt Jeananne. I thought she was the coolest growing up, so I was proud to have my middle name be for her.

Graham's a nice name. Classic and contemporary. Good choice. Smiley I'm guessing that is your dads name since ZeroG's dad is named Gwiz...Cheesy Wink

And definitely, let's have a wager on who will give birth first, with $s going to Isara, or to the purchase of diapers! haha! Cheesy

LOL!!!  I am reading these e-mails trying to catch up on the ones about the names, and when Pepperland said she really like Scottish names, I was thinking for the boy (and if I ever had a boy, I would have this somewhere in the top few names to consider) Graham would be cool.  And there is the Scot's way of spelling it also as Graeme, but he may always be called  "Greeme" cuz people are dyslexic.

I know a family in Scotland and the two sons' names are William David, and Andrew.  Not sure what Andrew's middle name is, though.  And a girl at work is dating a scot, but I cant remember what his name is right off.

So...there ya are.  And I like Colin alot, too.

I just checked out the pregnancy calendar to see how things were going now with ZeroG and GetAmanda's baby, and it's reached the just longer than a ruler stage! Woohoo! A little over 12-13 inches and a whole pound! Wow! Time flies...

How is everyone feeling? Are we over the nausea yet? Has the ever present exhaustion departed yet? Are you starting to plan the showers?

Check out the pregnancy calender I originally posted, when I looked the other day, it said Braxton hicks were common about now I think.

I think its cool if the kids want to 'host' a shower. And then you can make them responsible for all the work! Snacks, decorations, games, just let them have at it, since they are older, it will really help them feel like a part of everything. I don't think there is anything weird about older siblings hosting showers.

You could even register at ToysRus to give people ideas. This is the first baby for you and ZeroG so go all out! Smiley

As for what to buy at first, along with the clothes, I'd include a couple of packages of diapers. Wink Cheesy

There are a lot of 'new' cool baby products. Bibsters for instant, disposable bibs! Sweet! Perfect for when drooling starts, or for feeding  in public so you don't have to put a wet bib back in the bag. Might just be me, but I think that's a handy idea. Smiley

I'm not sick at all anymore and so so thankful for that! I go back to the doc on 2/16 for a routine heartbeat check and then 2 weeks after that I have my glucose test and another ultrasound - really hoping the baby cooperates! My family keeps asking me what I'm having so they can start buying!  Cheesy Some items I see are ridiculous and obviously just a way to get your $$$, some bath things and the like. I'm just going to stick with the basics. And besides, with this being my family's 1st grandchild on both sides (hubby is an only child), I have a feeling this baby will be blessed with the things it needs (and then some). getamanda, sorry to hear you are still sick occasionally, I hope it leaves you for good in the 3rd tri. I can't believe I have less than 100 days until my due date - crazy! As for your BH contractions, I'm on the May 2007 expecting club at ivillage and several of the girls on there are already having those too. Unfortunately for some people they last most of the 3rd tri. I have read that if they are more than a few times and hour and really painful then that can be a bad sign. Otherwise, it's another wonderful pregnancy side-effect to deal with! I was also happy to read that you are still pretty small for your due date, I feel like I am too, even tho my baby is also measuring right on. Not that I want to be huge, but it makes me feel like I'm not big enough or something. I also get a weekley newsletter from babygaga.com and it told me this week that the baby's eyes should be open, which is a really cool thought! Not much too see right now tho.  Wink Take care, I'll keep you all updated.

My wife started having contractions right at the 6 month mark.  After a couple hours of regularly spaced contractions, her doctor told her to go to the hospital where they gave her something to make them stop.  Since then, she's had contractions 2 or 3 nights a week that were spaced about 4 minutes apart and lasting a little over an hour.  But those all stopped on their own.  So, we're guessing those were BH.  Her doctor didn't seem too concerned about them.  Huh

Anyway, she's already at 2cm and is scheduled to be induced on Valentines Day (if the baby doesn't get here earlier).

And we still aren't sure if it's a boy or girl!

This will be my second... I have a 3yr old girl. She's really excited.  She thinks that her mom is having 2 babies (no matter how much we try to convince her otherwise) because Dora(the Explorer)'s mom had twins. Smiley

LoL! Chad, congratulations a week early! Next week this time, you'll be a daddyX2. Cheesy

I'm with your doctor, Chad. Contractions this late in the game are uncomfortable, but exciting because even if the baby were born today, it's far enough long that it wouldn't be considered premature.

Maybe you should give your daughter a very realistic baby doll on the day your wife delivers so she'll have a baby to take care of while Mommy takes care of the newborn. Then it'll be like her Dora dream of twins came true!

Ask your wife to consider holding off till the 15th... that's my bday! Grin Cheesy
