hmmm...work in progress...Baby...yep, I can see how you'd jump to that conclusion. Maybe you should check with getAmanda though, because I think she said she's getting a cat. Smiley

Wow, this is too strange! My name is also Amanda, and I'm having a baby in May 2007 as well.  Cheesy When I read "Amanda", at first I thought you meant me. But I don't know ZeroG.  Wink Right now I'm in the very tired/feeling sick until about 2pm stage. I'll be so glad when this is past, right now all I can think about is going home to sleep after work!

Ha! Pepperland! That's is too funny! Congratulations to you as well! Two Amanda's both due in May, so cool!

I was very exhausted with my first pregnancy. I'd get home from work by 5:45 and be asleep by 6:15. Then I'd sleep till 7 the next morning and drag to work. With the first pregnancy I also had the strongest food cravings: BLTs with Tomato Juice, and apples dipped in Peanut Butter.

Keep us posted on how it's going! Smiley

Thanks for the kind words everyone! This is my first baby, so I'm still getting used to the idea that I'm really going to be a mom...craziness. My hubby Jim is very excited, he has been ready for kids from the day of our wedding. I'm actually surprised at just how tired I've been. My "morning" sickness hasn't been too bad (yet!) - I keep saltines at my desk and drink a lot of water. My first ultra-sound is 10/9, so I don't have an exact due date yet, but I will for sure keep you all updated. It makes me feel better to talk with people who have been through this already. Thanks again  Cheesy

Hey all,

Congratulations! My Wife is having a baby in April '07 and her name is Amanda - no Just kidding. It's Sonja, but we are having.

I wanted to tell you that if you are having Morning sickness to try the Motion Sickness Bracelets. My wife was feeling horrible a month back and we tried these - they push a pressure point on you wrist - She was a sceptic, but the results were phenominal. It is totally safe as it uses only pressure point.

They could make them look nicer though.

Anyway Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!

Woohoo! 3 Babies and counting! Anyone else? Anyone?

Okay, Pk, you might have to start a sub folder under health for all the pregnancy stuff that might follow...

Pepperland, you'd be surprised out how many parents are in here, so if you need reassurance that your normal, you might want to try another forum Wink

LOl! Sorry. Didn't mean to freak you out. Smiley I was sooooo educated about pregnancy, but knew zip about what to do with them once you got them home... The education has been reversed now.

I had to find the calendar, so I'd know what was going on! *thinking to myself...is 5 months when you start to wear tents? Or can you wait till 8? Or can you eat whatever and start buying maternity clothes at 2 months?*

Ok, whatever I said about not having morning sickness yet has totally changed. I've been soo sick lately, and unable to eat much of anything. I called my doc and he got me started on the same med as you, getamanda. I'm proud to say that today I stayed at work for the entire day! One small step at a time...

I go Monday the 9th to find out my due date. I'm ready to know when that is so I can start thinking positively about when I will feel better.

Well, I wish I could say that I'm eating as healthy as you are, but that's not the case for me right now. I try and eat whatever I think I can keep down, which isn't much. My appointment went fine, seeing the ultrasound was really cool. Jim went with me and says he's going to come with me to all my appts, which is fine with me. My due date is May 17th. I didn't gain any weight, but didn't lose either. I'm soo ready to start feeling better. Every day is a struggle at work between getting sick and trying to think straight. I'm still taking my vitamins, so that's a good thing. My nausea pills aren't really doing much at all anymore, I think my body has outsmarted them or something. Hanging in there & trying to feel positive, but right now it's really hard....

Hmm..does this mean an updated 'blob' picture in the gallery? Since you are nearing the end of the first trimester, has your seasickness eased up?

I'm happy to report that my nausea seems to hopefully be on it's way out. The only time I really feel sick anymore is in the evenings, really from about 4 pm on. My hubby & I are joining some friends for a birthday party tomorrow evening at Olive Garden, so I'm really hoping I feel well enough to make a hog of myself.  Cheesy I go to the doc on Monday, and I can't wait to see the ultrasound and see how much the baby has grown. I've heard you can see arms, legs, etc, which is exciting vs. seeing a "blob." My tummy has definetly grown, I only have 1 pair of pants I can still button..the rest I wear unzipped with my shirt pulled over. I've tried for a couple weekends to go buy some new ones, but weekends have been rough for me and I haven't felt up to it. Well, before I ramble any more, I'll close & say that I'm sure I'll give a full report after my appt. Monday.

Had my doc appt today...we didn't have an ultrasound done, but that's ok b/c I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time.  Smiley Everything sounded good, 160 beats per min. I go back on 12/4 for more heartbeat listening and the rest of my bloodwork, oh joy. Hey getamanda, is this your first baby? Your comments about feeling kicks have me wondering. Not feeling so good today, and here lately the bad taste in my mouth has really upset my stomach. If this nasty taste would back off a little it would help.

ZeroG - You can do it! You can handle those kids! And keep the house clean! I find 'negotiating' works wonders...junk food for clean rooms.. Wink

The only way I was able to tell the difference in my pregnancies was during the ultrasound when the dr. said, "usually, I tell people I'm 80% sure it's a boy...but...I'm going to tell you to go ahead and shop for blue stuff." With him, I was swollen from head to toes and was exhausted from month one through month 5. With her, I had to pay attention to him, so I don't remember a thing!

I need some new pants soo bad. Mine have been fully unzipped here at work for a few weeks now!  Embarrassed The thing is, I've felt so crappy every weekend that whenever I try to go out and get anything, I don't have the energy. Hopefully over this long weekend I can a least get a couple things.

Woohoo! 3 Babies and counting! Anyone else? Anyone?

Add me to the list!  We're expecting our second child on February 26th!  We had the ultrasound a while back, but the doctor wasn't able to say for sure whether it's a boy or another girl.  I'll be happy either way.

We had a scare Sunday night when my wife started having contractions.  They were able to stop them at the hospital, but now I'm constantly worried about it happening again!  And they have no clue what caused it.  Huh

Time for an update.  Smiley I went to Motherhood Maternity a couple weekends ago and finally got some clothes! And oh my gosh, they feel amazing. I also got a pair of jeans from Target. I went to the doctor today and he listened to the heartbeat with the doppler. The baby was kicking up a storm, I got to hear that on the doppler, although I can't feel anything yet. Then I went to get my quad screen bloodwork done and I didn't pass out this time. yay! I go back on 12/18 for my "big" ultrasound: we should be able to find out the gender then. I'm really excited about that one, and I'm sure I'll report back right away.
