Something new for you to try! Making your own yogurt at home! The only tool you need is a thermometer, and all the ingredients are accessible. If I can buy them in my tiny grocery store, you should be able to find them no problem.  Cheesy

Check it out!

That is soooooooo neat!!  THANK YOU for posting that!!  I've added that to my list of things to try to do. (so I'll let you know when to start expecting a ton om PM's from me) LOL!

How did the flavoring bowls turn out?  Or do you still need to let it chill?

Would you do this again?

We will probably do it again, but maybe start in the morning. We started at 12:30 and it was 1:20 when we put it in it's heating pad babysitter. Then we just checked twice and realized it was a stable 118 so left it alone till 9:30.

I liked the powdered sugar and strawberry preserves. I think next time I'll buy diced peaches and add some cinnamon.

We've got half the yogurt sitting in the frig with cheese cloth making cheese and we are going to flavor it tomorrow. The only added tools are cheesecloth and a colander. Smiley (Thanks AB!)

Well...the texture was creamier than cream cheese, but hubby accidentally salted it too much, and so we had to throw it out. Sad

The drained "cheese" product was the thickness of the store variety of yogurt though. So next time, no powdered milk, and drain anyway. Smiley
