I just ate one while I read the artcle. Mine was smooth JIF with Welche's Grape Jelly on Whitewheat bread I prefer strawberry jam like the article, but I was out voted on that in my house.

Grin LOL  I've always wondered about the PB to J ratio.

When I was visiting PK in Nongkhai, I craved PBJ sandwitches. We ate them for dinner one night. hehehe  I guess you could say, mom prepared dinner that night. Grin

I say "To each, his own" on the ratio of pb to j. And I always prefer wheat bread to white for the very reason of I don't like bread sticking to the roof of my mouth. Smiley

Peter Pan and Orange Marmalade. Or Strawberry.

I like keep both, and make mine out of whatever the kids feel like. PB&J is served for lunch (and sometimes breakfast) about 3 times a week here. With carrots as the side dish, not chips.

That article was very high in it's praises of organic pb which I haven't had since the late 80s from a health food store. Maybe I should give it whirl again? Hmm...

I prefer Crunchy, with blueberry preserves, on Potato bread. Smiley

@Ginaish - the organic isn't bad. Heather eats it. It's still got the oil on top, but once you mix it, it's very good stuff.

I love smooth PeterPan, but as it is impossible to get any right now I have resorted to other brands.  I am not much for jelly or jam so it is just PB sandwiches for me on white bread.

Now, it'd be great, if they could just come up with a delicious veggie to put on a PB&J sandwich. Grin Grin Maybe cucumbers?? They have lots of cucumbers in Thailand. Cheesy

Lettuce is a good veggie, thanks Gina. How about lettuce, cucumbers, bananas and peanut butter?

Smooth PB with shredded raw cabbage and shredded carrots is delicious on a sandwich.  Seriously.  Also, using celery sticks for dipping is yummy.

It's going to sound weird, but the ONLY way I can eat a PBJ sandwich is to have the organic peanut butter, with jelly, and nacho cheese doritos in the sandwich. I have to drink milk with it, and it is SO good! ALl this talk is making me want a PBJ sandwich!

Heather - Wait a minute, do you normally like PBJ that way or is it only because of your current pregnancy state?

That's how I've always eaten them! Cheesy I used to take my PBJ with nacho cheese doritos and dunk them in applesauce. I haven't done that in awhile, although that does sound a little good!

That's the only way I eat a PBJ (that stands for Peanut Butter and Jelly). Sometimes, I have a peanut butter and banana sandwich. What do you have?

We do love our jellies with our peanut butter.  No joke.  I have orange marmalade, grape jam, strawberry preserves, apricot preserves, and apple jelly in my fridge right now so I can many varied modes of sickly when the mood strikes.  And it goes oh so well with a fresh cup of coffee!

Heather-what kind of jelly do you use with the dorito/peanut butter combination?

Sillymoo, It's no joke, it's true, American's are raised on PB&J sandwiches. The jelly of choice is usually Strawberry Preserves or Grape Jam. But, others may prefer something different.
Gwiz, my husband, really does eat a PB, banana, and mayo sandwich, once in a while. Cheesy
Bananas are a rich source of potassium and peanut butter is a rich protein source. So eating peanut butter and a banana is a healthy way of getting quick energy.

Heather, I've never heard of applesauce and doritos, not quite sure about this one. I love applesauce and I love doritos, but not at the same time.  Smiley

Kitkat, I'm right there with you on the PB, mayo and banana sandwiches, for some reason it all just comes together.  I grew up on them, and it wasn't until high school that I realized I was the only person I knew that had ever heard of it.  Give it a try everyone, its so good Grin

Depends on what's in the fridge. Normally Grape, apricot, peach or strawberry. Love those!

Ok, that just sounds gross, but I guess I can't knock it till I've tried it!

Eah, it's not everybody's cup of tea! My old babysitter got me into it. She would make us PBJ sandwiches, cut them into four strips, put some cheese doritos on the plate, and a blob of applesauce. Well, that combo always seemed to get mixed together, and found out that it was quite good!

I remember when my brothers and I were kids we would annoy our Dad by eating peanut butter near him. He HATED the smell if he wasn't eating it. Sometimes we would just leave an open jar of peanut butter behind him, while he sat on the couch, and then count how long it took before he yelled, "WHOSE EATING PEANUT BUTTER?!?!"

Good times.

Sorry, Dad. Grin
