Last week it blizarded in southern alberta and i had about 20 Robins sheltering on my front porch:

i had to take the photo through the window to avoid scaring them away.

Today it was nice outside about 21C/70F and i got a nice sunset pic from my apartment on the 12th floor... too bad the mountains are obscured by the clouds.

the photos dont do it justice

Thanks Wes for the photos. Canadian Robins are much larger than Texas Robins.
The night photo is beautiful, maybe you can get a day shot for us sometime? I've tried taking photos of the hills from our deck, but it's very difficult to get a good distance shot. The perspective, on my photo, is distorted.

Ginafish, you are right that the robins are laying... we have at least 2 pairs of robins that nest in our yard every year and i think there may be more nesting this year.  our yard is about an acre so theres lots of room and trees for them to make nests...  I will get some better photos of the mountains when the weather clears up... its supposed to rain and the clouds are already moving in and covering the mountains.  I will also try to get a shot of the Calgary skyline when conditions improve and i get a better camera up here.

We're having beautiful weather here.  Low 56 and hi for today 74. We've already had days in the hi 90's, so this weekend will be beautiful with hi's in the 80's.  We've also had several inches of much needed rain recently.  Cheesy
Cheesy I hope the volunteers in NonkKhai don't read my post, they'll be really jealous.

Up in my neck of the woods (literally, sort of) I am not complaining. In the early mornings it is still a bit crisp, but as of late it has really warmed up during the day. I mean REALLY warmed up. I think yesterday we actually hit 95F (YIKES!) I am hoping Spring will hang on a bit longer and give us some more pleasent 70-80F days.

So there was some nasty weather here on tuesday... luckily my town is 50km east of this but this photo says it all:

you can see the full story here http://news.aol.ca/articl...ethbridge-Alberta/271644/
basically they got an entire months worth of rain on 90 minutes.... reminds me of the rainy season in Nongkhai!

That is incredible. Are they swimming for fun or trying to get out of the car?

well some of them were just trying to get across ... that is an underpass that goes under a 4 lane highway... the owner of the van was in his 70s or something and he had to abandon it when the water rose to the windows

That's a pretty stupid thing to do. If they wanted to get across they could just have walked another 20 meters and crossed the road, not swim in oily rain water.

That's good news, KitKat.  Wish I could ship you some of the rain we're having here.
