So I checked the original image and it is indeed fairly dark, that is probably because I caught this the very moment the sun broke over the horizon. But I still played with lightening it up just a tad and got a nice variation of the image. Here it is (again, click on it for the full size version):

Also, just started a photo blog, will try to keep it updated with a new photo each day. I think I have enough shots on my computer to fill in when I don't get a new shot, but hopefully this will help me keep the camera out and firing. Here's the link: http://digitalwindow.aminus3.com/

Thanks Gina ... I really appreciate that.   But for the record, for every "wow" photo I post here, there are plenty of dud's that get relegated to the recycle bin Smiley

It's true, being a photographer is taking many photos and only sharing the good ones. Cheesy

Sorry for the absence for a lengthy period.. above is a picture of a street busker who made his appearance weeks ago at the hawker center where my mum operates her beverage stall.

Went for a drive on Saturday near Napa, CA (about an hour drive from my house). Grabbed these shots throughout the day:

Larry, I always enjoy your beautiful photos.   The first fishing lake photo is positively amazing, it's almost 3-D.      The way the blue water guides my eyes directly to the hills in the background is perfect.   Smiley

Larry, beautiful photos! I think I might be a wee bit jealous of how well you take photos. Cheesy

Thanks for the kind words ... glad you both enjoyed them.

Perhaps I should occasionally post the photos I immediately discard. For every photo I post here there are probably 5 or more that will never be seen by anyone but me Smiley

Cool. Looks like you spotted some Florida Otters.

Here's what they look like. Looks like a perfect match.

I dont know what they are eating.  I am still having post traumatic stress from the snake in the tree incident at my mom's, so naturally I want to believe they are eating one of the dreadful beasts.  Whatever they were snacking on, the meal-meat-thingy didn't look too thrilled. (look at the second pic)   Tongue

There were two hawks (or vultures?) flying around also, was hoping to get a pic of it splashing and diving down into the water, but no go.  Guess they were camera shy.

Ya'll might have heard that the moon was really really close to the earth the other night, like the closest its been in about fifteen years.  So I rode out to the pier and took a few shots.  I like this one best.

Great pictures. There were thin clouds in front of the moon most of that night which created a neat effect.

What camera do you use?

Wow! Really close shot! Sweet!
Did you need to set up a tripod to get that shot?

Believe it or not, that is a handheld shot using just my stock HV20 on full zoom.  I was running late to get somewhere and was in a hurry.  I am lucky it turned out! LOL!  There were lots of people out there with big set-ups, flashes, huge tripods, enormous lenses.  I felt like a doofus out there with my little camera, but it turned out okay.   Smiley

I love both of them! We were at a cookout that night, and there were clouds in the sky, but we saw the moon in bits and pieces. Now I can saw I say the whole thing from that night. Cheesy

For all of you who live where it REaLLY snows, here's what gets school canceled in my neck of the woods. But then, it's not snow. It's inches of sleet. It's caused at least 11 semi's to jack knife on the interstates about 30 minutes from where I live.

We are staying IN today!! There's not anything fun about playing outside with that mess. Sad
