Shocked  I'm so happy you had your camera for this phenomenal sight. You're one of the rare ones to have even seen it in snow.  Thanks for sharing!!  Grin Grin

This is a scene from KitKat's backyard. Okay, not her backyard, but in her neighborhood where she has her shop. This is a Mooselope - not to be confused with MooseJaw Wink and is one of the many creative sculptures created from railroad ties and sheet metal. thartley has decided to invest in some sheet metal and sell it as roadkill art. Cheesy This mooselope can be yours for the small price of $2100, so hey, roadkill oughta go for at least half that, right?

Snapped this shot while helping out at my mum's stall, which I thought it's something useful to all..

Always fear the ants or those creepy crawlers being lured by those sweet stuff in your kitchen?

Here's a remedy but I'm not sure if it's workable (but it's OK since my mum use it)

Simply scatter a load of rubber bands as a "cushion", then place your sweet stuff on top of it.. those rubber bands must have act as a line of defense to prevent those creepy crawlers from "invading"..

Cheesy I'm glad you explained it's the rubber bands that keep away the ants. I thought the bottle with the cows was the cure. Cheesy But I have a question, do people use milk to sweeten their tea? Is it hot tea? Or is it not milk even though there is a cow on it but some sugar product?

Hehe, it makes me curious because of the label and over 15 years ago I collected cows in a big way, so I love the label. Cheesy

Hi Gina,

Here's the bigger picture..

In this part of the world, particularly in Singapore and Malaysia, folks here been using condensed milk (sweetener) to sweeten the taste of their coffee or tea, other than the customary way of having creamer and sugar

OH My! I had never thought of doing that, but considering condensed milk is good enough to lick off the spoon, after eating some with the spoon, I just might have to try it! Grin Grin

Now, is there a way to put cream cheese in coffee? Wink Cheesy

pohui, using condensed milk in coffee or tea makes good sense to me. The cream & sugar is all in one product. I may try it! Cheesy I only use cream in my coffee, not my iced tea.  Cheesy
Pohui, do a lot of Singaporeans use cream in their iced tea? I know in Thailand they use milk/cream. It's quite a different taste and appearance. Cheesy

Not sure if you guys recalled the above photo? Days ago was at the same shopping mall and guess what...

I'm not sure if I'm responsible for this but now the mall management decided that for the benefit for the mass, they decided to have some benches being placed near the glass panel

Yay for ye (maybe) for ye have improved thy surroundings (maybe). It always puzzles my mind why they build stuff like those railings, which seem to be perfect for sitting, but then forbid the sitment. What else are they there for, aesthetics? Not that I don't enjoy looking at a cold metal pipe but still.

- it's not very often you see billboard like this dotted along the roads in Singapore..here you have one with a public message from the health authority to remind the public the danger of the dengue fever.

Here is a picture I just took on my walk back from a visit to the grocery store while at work (Houston, TX)

Here is a map of where the photo was taken. The photo is looking towards my building. You can see the darker Marathon Oil building, but my building is too light to see.

Thanks Nick...I fell out of my chair.  Tidbit, I'm afraid of heights....get real dizzy.  Also afraid of water, small cramped spaces, high speeds, lightning, crowds, roaches, and the monster under the bed (who by the way likes to frequently hang out with the monster in the closet).

I will post something here soon.....my camera full of goodies is at the ILC.

Thanks for the heads up, T! I could probably get you local pictures of all of those things (including the closet monster. That's right, I have a life-sized card board cutout of Jared from SubWay in my closet.)

I made that pic big to give the full effect. More to come!

Here is a picture I found of some blubonnets around Chapel Hill, TX. This is what you see on the way from Houston to Austin in the spring.

Larry's picture of Sunflowers was awesome. The following quote from Michael Pollan's book The Botany of Desire rings true here.

Quote
This stands for that: flowers by their very nature traffic in a kind of metaphor, so that even a meadow of wildflowers brims with meanings not of our making.

And at the end of the chapter on Tulips.. he ends with...

Quote
Apollo and Dionysus were names the Greeks gave to these two faces of nature, and nowhere in nature is their contest as plain and poignant as it is in the beauty of a flower and it's rapid passing. There, the achievement of order against all odds and it's blithe abandonment. There, the perfection of art and the blind flux of nature. There, somehow, both transcendent and necessity. Could that be it---right there, in a flower--the meaning of life?

ZeroG, our bluebonnets in Texas are beautiful.

LarryR, I can't imagine so many sunflowers!   Shocked   Your photo is AMAZING!!   Thanks for posting it.  I made another post in the random thread saying how I'd love to be right in the middle of the sunflower field.  Grin

Wow!  Sunflower city!  The bluebonnets are invading too!

I've got something in my neighbourhood that fits right in with the "moose" in KitKat's backyard.

This yard on the way to my grocery store is full of strange sculptures like this one.

I put what little I know of the place in my photo description in Flickr.
