Why do you torture me so? Green isn't a good color for me.

I thought it was a different look for our Florida coastline than some of you have maybe seen.  Those pics were taken at roughly 4:00pm when the sun should still be up and shining bright.  Looks like hurricane weather, almost.  And so eerily cold.  If its still like that tomorrow, I will try to get some shots of the sunrise thru the fog.

No fog this morning.... just a reminder from the universe that we're living in a work of art.  I did no color correction on these.  They are straight from the camera, just resized them a bit.

These next few are at a place called Joe's Crab Shack.  It photographs well.  Smiley

oops, forgot a couple of pics.  I am an early morning person, and for the last few weeks, its really struck me how beautiful it is in the early morning.  Not just the sunrises, but how all the window shops look. Being as it is nearing Christmas, many of them have put extra effort into their storefronts and they leave the lights on.  So when I drive down the road, I nearly wreck because I am looking at how pretty everything is.  I figured I would start pulling over and taking pics.  Wish I knew how to take better pics in low light, but these are nice ones.  I hope to get more on weekends coming up.

Huh!!

T., your photos are beautiful. Did you use a flash with the store front night shots?  Your sunrises are amazing, now I know why you love living in Florida so much.

No, I didnt use the flash.  I was afraid it would just cause a flare in the middle of the pic, so I adjusted the settings as best I could and hoped that the light from the window displays themselves would offer a decent result.  I had to play with the brightness and contrast levels a little in photoshop to make them presentable, but they are nice.  I hope to get more window shots this weekend.

pohui, do you think it's because it's written in English? It does surprise me as to the frequent use of English words in Singapore.  Smiley  How do Singaporeans feel about seeing English everywhere?

Hi KitKat.. I dont think that's the case.. as most Singaporeans (except some of the older generation)can speak and understand English, for this instance, I guess they choose to ignore it as they must be felt tiring after walking around a giant mall, so the moment they saw a something that can be seat on , they just dont hesitate at all.

I think English signs have been part of our life here, except on some occasions I do have have elderly folks came to me and ask for direction Smiley

One of my favorite things to do is to go out early in the morning when everything is so still and take pictures.  I've already been out this morning.  Spotted this statue earlier in the week.  Not the greatest shot, but I like it.

We have lots of statues in parking lots here at the beach.  I will take more in a bit when the sun comes up a little.  Right now, I'm starving and have a coffee cake in the oven.  Cheesy

Here are a couple of shots of the odd sunrise this morning.  Its cloudy and overcast and a little misty at the ocean.  The rainy clouds hung like a curtain over the orange sunrise.  I can just imagine what it would have looked like if the curtain had been pulled all the way away....  it was still pretty dark out because of the clouds when I took these, so the ones with the grass look like they were taken by a stalker. haha!!!  The flash lit things up right in my face.

T. pretty cool photos. We live on a hill and we can't view anything now, we're completely fogged in.  Grin  If I had a photo it would be totally white with some green tree tops in the foreground.  Grin

My New Year's resolution: I'm going to learn how to post photos on this forum. Grin

I was looking for something lastnight and came across some photo cd's from a long time back. These were taken with a regular 35mm film camera while on a camping trip with my brother at a place called Scotts Flats in California.  So they are not a common sight of my neighborhood, but still soooooo beautiful I wanted to share them.

Pics from work are very beautiful. The ducks do that like a heart shape. The nature around your work must make your  everyday happy.

Bruce and Shasta are so cute!

Something unique to my neighborhood, yet a common site for me. An old barn are plenty around these parts.

I took my camera out today intending to practice some tracking shots on the video side and realized after I got out there that I left all my tapes back at the apartment.  It was so beautiful out on the water that I couldn't resist taking some more stills.  These are all out in Mayport, a little fishing village about three or four miles from me.
