This afternoon Isara and some students from the ILC went to a local park and picked up some trash. Everyone visiting the park was very happy to see people cleaning up the environment and some even joined in and helped.

We'll try to do more clean-up projects whenever we have the time and extra hands. Grin

Yippee! Cleaning a park is a great idea that you can do anytime! It's exciting to see others join in! That park looks like a huge place and that unfortunately, there was a lot of trash there. Sad

Wesley: how was your first volunteer stint with Isara that didn't involve teaching? Cheesy Hope you get to do a helmet drive!

It was nice to get out and help the community in another way.  I do like to go see new things... such is the spice of life.  It was really hot out and I was sweating like a pig but it was fulfilling.  I like to shed the formality of the classroom and go work one on one with the people and get my hands dirty i think it helps bond with the students in a more personal way because you are more on the same level as them because in Thai culture when you are teaching someone you command a very high level of respect.  Yes gina, we are doing a helmet hand-out on tuesday night after teaching the Teenager class from 17-1800.

Sweet! I'm glad you 'enjoyed' getting sweaty Cheesy

How much trash were you able to clean up in the end? Was the last picture a good 'result' photo? Next time my family goes camping, I'm packing extra trash bags and gloves so we can go on a clean up hike. There was a lot of trash at the site we went to. We probably could have filled up quite a few bags. Sad

I think I need to start getting back to the gym so I dont collapse when ya'll put me to work.

Or I could practice by cleaning up this wreck of an apartment more often.  Grin
