For the past week Isara has been purchasing supplies for a very small school outside of Nong Khai. This particular school was in desperate need of desks, chairs, and blackboards.

Today the materials to make 6 blackboards were purchased and we also delivered 18 desks and chairs for the kindergarten classroom. The kindergarten teacher has never had table or chairs for her students so she was very happy with the surprise gift from all of you.

While at the school Isara also helped them repair their front gate and a classroom window that was broken. Isara also gave the school a few boxes of extra floor tiles left-over from the Learning Center renovation. They will use the tiles for the students bathrooms.

Tomorrow we will go back to the school and help them build the blackboards. Thanks for supporting this project with your visits to Isara.org. Grin

I need to teach those guys the proper way to cut glass.  I used to be a glazier.  Doesnt look like they have a square tool to keep the cutter aligned. then they wouldnt have to use 2 people.
oh well, so long as the job gets done.

Today I went back to the school and was surprised to see 10 other people already helping build the blackboards. The men helping were fathers of students of the school. They had heard about the new blackboards and wanted to help make them.

They also replaced the broken window.

The total cost for this project, including the 6 blackboards, 18 desks/chairs for the kindergarten, the new window, and to fix the gate, was only about $210.

Your clicks go a long way over here! Thank you, Isarians, for all your support.

It looks like a "Field of Dreams" scene, build it and they will come. Smiley Smiley

Yesterday we went back to this school to donate some sports equipment and our new volunteer, Sean, was invited to play paytong with the students. Afterwards we had a small Thailand vs. USA competition with the teachers. Thailand won (this time) but they had the home field advantage. lol (Note: Look at the score keepers expression. I think we lost so badly that everyone felt sorry for us.)

The school was in need of some new equipment. The paytong balls were all the same rusted color, so you couldn't tell which ball was for what team. The new ones cost about $2/ea.

And their soccer ball was older than most of the students. We got them two for $8.

Needless to say they were very happy with the surprise and very thankful to everyone who makes a difference using Isara.org. Don't forget! The smiling faces (except for the score keeper) were all made possible by your clicks.

Yes, your score is very sad, but I think the score keeper is sad because the new paytong balls are, once again...all the same color. She still doesn't know which ball is for which team. Wink

And thanks to all of the pictures, we see our clicks pay off with good times for all! Smiley

Check out the kid to my right in the picture where I am throwing the paytong ball.  He was so awesome haha.  He was the least shy kid ever, probably shook my hand 10 times in the course of an hour.  All of the kids were super excited and it was so much fun playing paytong with them.  My team, the boys team was absolutely crushed by PK's girls team. THAT! Is HystErical!

But there's nothing funny about PK being secure enough in his sexuality to agree to play on the girls team.

That's the beauty and magic of a Man Purse!  Cheesy

Which he only wears to compliment his masculinity.
