It's the thought that counts, Stasven. Grin

Here's some more photos of the house.

First floor porch area (will be cleared).

First floor restroom and first order of business. Grin

A view from the second floor.

Second floor balcony.

Inside the second floor main room.

When we took these photos the first floor was filled with junk so we'll wait until it's been cleared before taking photos.

Is there any hot water in there? What's with the cans? Love the toilet!  Cheesy

Thanks for the photos, the main part of the house looks great.  But, as you've said, the restrooms need alot of work. Smiley

I'm so relieved he's starting on the restroom first. Grin  The toilets in Thailand are very difficult to use.  Grin

You so punny!!

I did that by accident yesterday too! T - it's alway fun to have you here to help us point out the obvious.  Grin You are just keeping us in line...

I'm curious also about the second floor. Is it an outdoor hallway configuration with no inside access to each room? If so it's a good thing the overhang is so big so you don't get your bunny slippers wet! Wink

ZeroG- do you see that 'stand' by the driveway? That's waiting for you to come to Thailand and stand on it so you can whisper "Helmets. Get your helmets here."  Wink Cheesy

The Thai toilets haven't developed much in the last few centuries. The big blue bucket on the left is a reservoir for water. After using the toilet you dip a bowl into the big blue bucket of water and then pour the water into the toilet. Repeat the process a few times and gravity does the rest.

Ha! The stand you mentioned is for Spirit Houses. They're quite common in Thailand. You'll see them everywhere, very large one and smaller ones too. They deocrate them with flowers, fruit, and gifts.  Apparently this is where, they hope, the bad spirits will come, so they won't come into their peaceful homes. The Thais are very superstitious.

Cheesy PK may want to add a better explanation of this custom.
But, this one will do for now. Wink

Nice Job. I'm glad to see you getting a bigger place. You are going to need it with all the racks and racks of computers you'll eventually have. I like 'white noise' to go to sleep sometimes, but in your current place, you'd never have quiet. Good job. Small donation on the way.

That is the Provincial Courts building. The old city hall building is next to it (out of frame, on the left) and the police station is just a few doors down. We're also on the same street as our old friends, The Red Cross.

Pat52 - Racks and racks of computers would be really nice to have. Let's hope it happens.

Ginafish - Thank you for the donation. But, didn't you know, members with more than 2,000 posts never need to donate. Your posts are a gift to us all. Grin  Ok, that sounded cheesy. But, seriously, thanks a lot!

Hi, Sunshine. Thanks for posting.

It has 4 rooms on the first floor and 5 on the top (1 large, 2 medium, and 2 small). The layout is very strange so we're trying to figure out the best use of space. Got any ideas?

There are 2.5 restrooms. Sorry, forgot to label them in the floorplan.

You sure are moving into a lot of space! Most important, figure out which bathroom is easiest to renovate, then move closest to it. Smiley

Then figure out where the electricity is easiest to convert and put all the hardware in there.

Don't you know it's dangerous to ask a bunch of opinionated people for input? Grin

Pk - Looking at the floor plan, that looks like a pretty nice place. Glad to see things looking up. Smiley

Sunshine - if you look on the front page, in the Learning Center Topic, right below the paypal button, you'll see the total so far. Smiley

Here's an updated version of the floorplan. It has all the rooms labeled (as it should have been done in the first place - d'oh!).  Embarrassed
