Here is some pictures of the kids using the new dart board and ping pong table.  With all the stuff PK has for them to play with I told him we might as well be the Isara ymca. Grin

It is a great way for them to burn some energy before class.  They can be quite rambunctious even after an hour of playing.

That looks like real fun. Wish I was there to enjoy it with everyone.
So now I know the reason why Sean and Pk bought all of those games!  Cheesy

The carport area makes a great indoor area for the kids to play.  Grin Great job guys!!!
So where did you move the large concrete table that was in the far left corner? I see you kept the benches.

Ming, now when you come home to Nongkhai you'll have more outdoor games to play and challenge Sean and PK. Grin

Unfortunately that table may have seen its last offical days as a table.  It was pretty beat up and had some large chunks out of it.  Neither PK or I have the antique restoration skills (patience) to try and fix it so we did the next best thing...put it outside where we can't see it. Wink  The benches however are now getting excellent use as spectator seats for mine and PK's epic ping pong matches.  Or as targets for Nok who insists upon smashing the ping pong balls every shot.

Nok and Sam are so cool, they clean the ILC all the time and they never complain.  They always do such a good job too.  That carport looks so awesome now!  Did you guys clean out the Koi pond yet?... thats a real "fun" job.

A few days ago a new Isara member (OnionJack) suggested we teach our students chess and was also kind enough to donate $65 to take care of the costs of buying the chess boards. We agreed it was a great idea so we rushed out and bought 4 wooden chess boards ($14/ea).

Unfortunately today was a holiday so only a few students came to class. But we will also teach chess on Friday when all the students come back from their break.

Thanks for the suggestion and support, OnionJack! Grin Grin

Thank you, OnionJack, great idea. Something to stimulate their minds and get them ready to learn. Excellent!! Thank you not only for the suggestion, but for the funds to see it through.  Grin WhoHoo!!

I did confuse the heck out of them by teaching them the wrong names for the pieces.   I always called the piece that looks like a castle...a castle.  Who knew it was called a Rook Huh Grin

Just people who play chess.

Which I don't.  But I did see the Bobby Fischer movie.  Does that count?

Great idea but I didn't know a hammer was required to play chess.  I must have missed that strategy lesson  Wink

What kind of things do we have and what do we need in the library?  The rainy season will be kicking in soon, right?

Hello Thew. How are you?

Our classes are full now. We have about 18 children and 12 adults.

The library is slowly growing. We just bought another bookshelf and a teacher just gave us some more English books.

Thanks for visiting our website and saying Hello. Grin
