Found Credit Card problem??

 On Friday a young lady left her Credit Card case with her I.D. and several credit cards in my shop. I was hoping she'd come in, since her friend bought something and she had a bag with my store name on it and I know they were spending several days in our town.
The young girl is Asian and since I had her address, I was able to google her name. I called the number listed, but the men that answered did not speak any English and they hung up on me. I also contacted several neighbors listed, one number was disconnected and the other neighbor did not know her.

Note: I've had this happen before and the credit card companies will not give out any personal information.

Any ideas as to how I can return her credit cards and I.D.?

Call the credit card company and see if they will notify her maybe?

Or if her id has an address, mail her a note letting her know you are willing to mail her items if she can verify some of the contents and the date she was at your store?

Thanks Gina, as far as calling the credit card companies, they won't do anything.

Since I have her address, I'd thought about sending her a note, but I'm not sure it's her current address. All I can do is try and see what happens.

Thought I'd give you an update.  I sent her a note telling her I'd found her CC and I.D. and gave her my telephone number and asked her to contact me.  She did contact me early this morning and was most grateful that I'd found her CC and I.D.  She said she was hoping someone would contact her and let her know they'd found her CC's.   Everything has been safely mailed to her.

I may be old fashioned but I was taught in such circumstances to hand things over to the police, assuming you trust the police.

Reminds me of a story my gran told me (I'm 60 now so this is way back). She found a valuable item in the street and handed it in at the police station. Police said if it wasn't claimed in 6 months she could keep it. She went back after 6 months and was told it had been claimed. Gran being gran she asked to see the lost property currently held. Sure enough there was this item among them. She walked out of the station owning the item.

I always believed my gran (this was in the UK). I was going to end up with a moral but I'd rather know what you folks out there think.
