Grin  My friend Shirley Anderson made USA Today while she was enjoying our small town 4th of July parade in Wimberley, Tx.  I spoke with her today and she didn't know who she was talking to at the time, only found out about this through her relatives.   WhoHoo!!!

Excellent, very cool. Do you know why they chose your town?

Thanks Nick,   all she knows is that someone told him to come to Wimberley if he wanted to see a small town parade.    We had more come this year than ever before.
Shirley  wears funny hats all around town all year long.   She'll come into my shop with a rooster doll as a hat , some of the weirdest hats I've ever seen.  People around town will just drop them off at her house and she wears them to the bank, grocery store, actually everywhere.  I saw her today at our local grocery store wearing a huge lime green straw hat with a huge turquoise bumble bee on top with flowers.  She's always a site to see. I posted photos of her over a year ago on the forum, but can't find the thread now.
By the way, those huge sunglasses she wears all the time.  Cheesy   She says they fit beautifully over her regular glasses.  Cheesy

Your friend Shirley seems like a real character. I like the small town aspect, whereas most folks know echother and small businesses are a big part of the local economy. Reminds me a lot of where I live.
