I just sent a message off to a friend of mine who is "in the biz".  His wife is an actual vocal coach and has run her own school for years and years.    They are soooo hard to get hold of these days, but I have asked him for any pointers he might give in such a situation as this.  He is an actor and director of both film and stage.  I worked with him and his wife for years in local theater in Jacksonville.  I will let you know as soon and if I hear from them.

There are oodles of youtube videos that proclaim to give singing advice. Even some videos by qualified professionals! Grin There is something called 'speech singing', if pk's going to save his voice for 40 hours, he'll need to start practicing singing for 4 or 5 hours at a time.

And pk, I'm going to restrain myself from requesting any Abba. 'Dancing Queen' is such a classic, I'd rather it not be reduced to a humorous side show. Cheesy

That settles it, I will pay for him to sing Dancing Queen AS BETTE MIDLER.

PK , I want you to sing "peanut butter jelly time" and you have to sing it fast too... you could slather yourself in each substance too seeing as those are you 2 favorite foods.
This is a cool idea...
From what I understand about making your vocal chords last is that you have to practice using them just like conditioning a muscle so that they dont get over stressed.  U can get severe laryngitis if you arent careful I had a teacher who permanently dammaged her voice because she didnt condition her voice before she started teaching.

Ack! The inhumanity! Grin I was going to try to keep it 'classy' for ya pk. I was trying to insert some semblance of sanity. After all, Jingle Bells would probably be pretty harmless. But the Isaraians apparently want 40 hours of pure entertainment. And who am I to shoot down their Bette Midler requests, or David Cassidy. So, finally, I'll break down and make such a request.

Luckily, it doesn't require a costume. Grin

Oh there will be rules.  Few, but there will be some.  Actually, there may not be.  HA!  Who knows?  We have gotten the preliminary e-mail from Guinness stating we have been approved on the initial request.  Now comes "fill out the form and fax it to us" segment of the process.

You are right Thartley it's Yata song. Ha ha remember PK made the isara video using this song.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/kEedwuEFbmk&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/kEedwuEFbmk&rel=1</a>

And now I can hear PK practicing Karaoke from his room.  Hope I don't hear this all night!  Cheesy

We've been hammering away at the details of the event. This is what we have so far.

- Isara members will get to request ONE song free. (This will hopefully attract new members.)
- Additional songs can be requested for $5 each. (100% will go to Isara charity projects.)
- If there are more song requests than actual songs then people will need to share. (Ex: "This song is for Ginafish, thartley, and Sean. ......One. Two. Three....IT'S RAINING MEN!! Hallelujah!!! It's raining men!!!")
- Because this is an "attempt" at breaking the world record (39+ hours) we can not guarantee your song will be played (even if you donated).
- Also, we can not guarantee the live video/audio feed will work the entire time. The Internet is pretty good here but it does crash from time to time.
- Lastly, we are working on a formal apology to all the singers and songwriters of the songs I'll be covering. Trust me, it isn't going to be pretty.

Here are two versions of the poster we're working on. Which do you like?

The information at the bottom will change. Speaking of, do you have any suggestions on what we should have on it?

Ok, I thought I was for the Isara man but actually think that the microphone is pretty cool... You definitely need to shove the blue fellow in there somewhere though.

Grin The video is so cool!! Thanks Sean.

I really like both of the posters, they're  both amazing.  I can't decide which one I like the best.

After thinking about it, maybe the microphone is the best choice, however, I love Isara man holding the microphone.  Grin Undecided

Hey Sean, the karaoke pub said NO Cameras Allowed!!! Sad

Grin

Here's a preliminary list of available songs. There's about 4,000 on the list (note: beware of duplicates). Once the final list is up we'll start the Karaoke Request topic so you can post your request. Please don't post your requests yet, but feel free to study the list and think about which song you'd like to hear sung very badly.

I like both posters...

Cheesy But to really jazz it up, maybe the blue man needs 'Elvis' hair and a white cape? Grin  Cheesy Grin

I just noticed the time says "7 a.m. CST" Isn't that 7 p.m. Thai time? Wouldn't you rather start it at noon or something so you aren't totally warping your sleeping habits?  Let's see...39 hours after 7 a.m. CST is... 10 a.m. Thai time August 3rd. I think... Cheesy Anyone else figured this out??

Do they sell b vitamins over there to help PK stay awake?? Cheesy

I'd go with the mic too. Or like Ginafish said, the blue man could be given a haircut and some new clothes.
